Yoga with Linda Wallace

Yoga with Linda Wallace Nourish your body, mind and heart with generously paced, supportive yoga practices. Release tension. Build strength. Improve mobility, agility and flexibility.

Soothe your nervous system. Say "ahhh." Teaching since 1999 (26 years in 2025!) My classes reflect an intuitive engagement with Yoga based on my long experience and depth of knowledge. I am innovative, offering explorations of poses and means of adapting them for individual bodies and needs. I draw on experience with the use of props and knowledge of anatomically sound principles to guide participants through safe, diverse practices suitable to their level of experience and ability. My teaching style is to guide you to your own inner wisdom and felt experience to help you uncover your own relationship with yoga, one that continues in body, mind and spirit once you step off the mat and go back to your daily life. I have firsthand experience with the power of yoga to help move through painful life situations, both emotional and physical, and brings compassion to my teaching to help others discover all of the gifts Yoga has to offer.

Would you like to practice in the comfort of your own home? Have to miss a class but be able to view a recording? Then my hybrid yoga class might be just what you're looking for!

You are invited to welcome Fall with yoga practices designed to promote harmony and ease in body, mind and heart as we transition from summer to autumn.

These classes are offered live from the Findlay Community Centre in Dartmouth (where I teach classes for Halifax Recreation)--attend in person or online. Everyone receives access to recordings for up to 6 months. Revisit the classes as many times as you like!

All Ages & Abilities Welcome - Some Experience Required

Monday evenings - 6:00 - 7:05 pm - 9 weeks starting September 15th (No classes October 13th & November 10th)

Contact me for pricing options--I aim to keep these classes affordable for all. Full Session and Partial Session options are available.

Email me at lindawallaceyoga@gmail.com to register or for more information.

My classes include mindful movements, and draw from somatic education practices such as Feldenkrais, Hanna Somatics and Body-Mind Centering, to enhance the practice of hatha yoga. This not only helps regulate and soothe our nervous systems and contribute to the safe and sustainable development of strength and flexibility, it helps us cultivate presence. By becoming more fully present to ourselves on the mat, we become more fully present in our daily lives. This opens the way to experiencing more joy and contentment with ourselves and in our relationships with others.

Thank you for supporting local, independent yoga. I look forward to continuing to share the benefits of healthy, sustainable yoga practices for all ages and abilities.

Shanti/Peace,
Linda

Talked about this in my classes last week. So cool to see this image.

Happy Valentine’s Day! We hope this beautiful specimen of the fascial continuity of the pericardium and respiratory diaphragm will inspire you today. Imagine how the pericardium and heart are gently stretched and released with every inhalation and exhalation!

This plastinate beautifully reveals the intimate connection of the respiratory diaphragm and the heart through their fasciae. The fascial covering of the heart, the pericardium, seen at the top and center, is completely continuous with the fascia of the diaphragm below. This kind of fascial relationship is often omitted in illustrations which highlight the muscles and organs without their related connective tissue. In this specimen, instead of removing the pericardium to show the heart, we carefully pried away the heart from its protective sleeve, leaving behind an empty pericardial sack and attached diaphragm.

Focusing on the connections of things instead of only the separateness, adds a missing piece to our thinking and to how we conceptualize the human body. Demonstrating this remarkable fascial relationship through plastination is an excellent tool for fascial anatomy education of the deep structures of the torso.

I'm thrilled to be embarking on my 26th year of teaching yoga, and still at the Findlay Community Centre where I got my start.

I love meeting the diversity of folks who come to the Findlay Centre for yoga, whether trying it for the first time, returning after an absence from practice, or continuing over many years.

I love hearing how yoga has benefitted them, and especially how the approach I offer, blending mindful movement with active and restorative yoga practices, makes them feel so good.

Come discover how integrating new scientific understandings of stretching, and wisdom from somatic movement education, with the heart of Yoga can benefit you and your yoga practice.

Shanti, Peace,
Linda
