📚🐾 Meet Jack! One of Nova Scotia’s very own Therapy Dogs making a difference, one story at a time.
At his local library, Jack has a very special role. During Literacy with a Lab, he curls up beside young readers as they practise reading out loud. No pressure. No judgement. Just a calm, friendly listener who makes kids feel safe, confident, and proud of themselves.
With Jack by their side, reading becomes less about getting it “right” and more about enjoying the moment. Families feel supported, kids gain confidence, and connections are made. All thanks to a wagging tail and a gentle presence.
Jack is one of many St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs volunteering across Nova Scotia and Canada, visiting libraries, schools, hospitals, care homes, and community spaces where comfort is needed most.
💚 Programs like this exist because of people who believe in kindness, compassion, and community care. Your support helps Therapy Dogs like Jack continue showing up — quietly changing lives, one visit at a time.
