A successful day for our Therapy Dog program! 🐾

This weekend, we hosted a Specific Needs Therapy Dog evaluation — a secondary assessment for teams who have been part of the program for at least one year. Successful completion allows these teams to safely visit with children under 12 and individuals with severe intellectual disabilities.

A special thank you to the Prospect Cubs and Armdale Cubs groups, who partnered with us and stepped in to support the evaluation. Your participation made this experience possible and helped prepare our teams to make an even greater impact in the community. 💙

Molly and her handler Denyse were at the Halifax Airport recently, taking part in filming to showcase our Therapy Dog Airport Initiative as part of the National SJA Cross Country Media Tour.

February was a busy and rewarding month for our volunteers! From providing Volunteer Medical Response (VMR) coverage at exciting Scotiabank Centre events to supporting local speed skating competitions, our dedicated volunteers were there every step of the way. We also captured some special moments of our Therapy Dogs doing what they do best, bringing comfort, connection, and smiles in their communities.

First visit, and already stealing hearts 🐶💚

Karyn and Georgie made their debut at Sexton Campus, bringing plenty of tail wags, calm vibes, and much-needed cuddles. Safe to say Georgie understood the assignment! Comfort first, smiles guaranteed.
