Nova Scotians will soon have access to specialized menopause care through a new clinic, marking the first phase of Canada’s first Menopause Centre of Excellence.

The clinic will support patients experiencing perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause, offering care from a range of providers including a general practitioner, registered nurse, pelvic floor physiotherapist, dietitian and gynecologist.

A request for proposals has been issued for clinic space, expected to open in winter 2026-2027.

IWK Health is collaborating with Hospice Halifax to launch Connected Through Loss: PAIL Support Group., a monthly, in-person support group for adults navigating pregnancy and/or infant loss.

This group is open to all adults (both gestational and non-gestational parents) within a chosen family navigating said loss.

It will run on the first Monday of each month, starting Monday, February 2nd.

Interested participants can contact Hospice Halifax to register, and contact both Hospice Halifax and the IWK’s Pediatric Advanced Care Team for more information.
