“I really just wanted to thank the staff as a whole tonight. It was scary for not only Aria but myself as well and they made it much more bearable. So thank you!”
Paige Muxworthy wrote to the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation on Facebook after a recent emergency visit with her two-year-old daughter, Aria, who had been running in the home when she fell and cut her head.
“It was quite the gash, and I couldn’t get it to stop bleeding,” says Paige. “We all got in the car and went straight to Dartmouth General, I always choose Dartmouth General. We got into triage, and they were very kind, they made her feel so comfortable.”
A paramedic came to help. He looked at the cut and realized it would need stitches.
“He made my daughter laugh, got to know her and gave her the chance to get to know him and be comfortable with him,” says Paige. “He was kind, gentle and very caring of my girl. It seems the fears went away for that moment, she let him clean her up and get her ready for stitches. While making sure my daughter was comfortable, they made sure I was as well and kept me in the loop on how things were going to go”
Aria has been doing well since and now is ready to get those stitches removed.
“After her fall when I told her we needed to go to the doctor she was crying that she didn’t want to go, she was nervous,” says Paige. “We’ve been telling her she needs to go back to get her stitches out and she has no issue with it. She’s actually comfortable with it.”
Paige has many family members who work in health care, and she says she wanted to tell a positive story and share her gratitude for the team at Dartmouth General Hospital.
“They need to be recognized for the great job they’re doing every day.”
