And that’s a wrap! Our program concluded last night with as many of the guys that could make it, including a solid final workout and Coach/Chef firing up the bbq for the boys. Shoutout to these guys for making what we do a lot of fun. Watching the progress made and skills developed to promote success over the past 13 weeks has been a pleasure, and we’re already looking forward to next summer!! @ Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Great advice... especially love the "humble pie" reference when it comes to drop off's in loading.

All things held equal, if you want to continue to improve over the course of a training career, you need to progressively increase the training stimulus. While increasing the weight used is the mos…

Here’s some quick feet and plyometrics from last week with our 3 year veterans and .

We try to get outside as much as we can while the weathers nice- helps for a good sweat, the air keeps you fresh, and you can get a lot more done than you think without weights. A 20-30 minute plyo workout can be done nearly anywhere, get you feeling sore the next day, and keeping things high intensity with short rest is great when you’re short on time to blend explosive power with aerobic work. Get creative and test it out 👍🏼

TrainSmart... landscaping??? 🤔

Shout out to coach Jeff for sharing his knowledge to help make Barb T’s new walkway a reality. Vintage is pretty useful after all! It may not be perfect but quite a transition from before ➡️➡️

P.S. this will be our first and hopefully only landscaping post....

Really interesting read. Anaerobic Glycolysis or the "Lactic Acid" system is heavily relied upon in a variety of sports (especially hockey). I've been told for years how harmful this byproduct can be to recovery and overall performance, so this research is definitely eye-opening!

"It's like the VISA of energetics; lactate is accepted by consumer cells everywhere it goes."

George Brooks has been trying to reshape thinking about lactate—in the lab, the clinic and on the training field—for more than 40 years, and finally, it seems, people are listening. Lactate, it's becoming clear, is not a poison, it's the antidote.
