Official announcement of the postponement of the International Abilympics in Moscow:

IAF Secteratiat and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation held an online meeting on October 29th, 2020.
Among other questions, the issue of postponing the X International Championship was discussed.
Due to ongoing spread of the COVID-19, Abilympics National Center of the Russian Federation and IAF Secretariat officially asked the opinions regarding the schedule of the XIA in Moscow. Based on the feedback, most of the IAF member countries wished postponement, and the Ministry of Education decided to agree to it. The month of the event is now under consideration.
The final decision will be made by the Organization Committee by the end of November.

We have decided not to send a team to the International Abilympics in 2021. Based on the current travel restrictions and health guidelines, we really had no other option. The international organizing committee is currently looking at options to postpone the event. Should the event be rescheduled, we will reconsider sending a team.

The next International Abilympics is scheduled for May 26-29, 2021 in Moscow. Team Canada has registered, and we will be choosing competitors in the fall. We are, of course, keeping a close eye on Covid-19 travel restrictions and will follow any guidelines provided by public health authorities.
