It is Dr. Anna D'Intino, BSc., ND last day before her maternity leave, we will miss her tremendously and wish her all the best for the arrival of her little one!

We are happy to welcome naturopath, Dr. Lauren MacIntosh, Naturopathic Doctor to our team who will be covering for Dr. Anna's leave at our Dartmouth location!

Dr. Lauren MacIntosh, ND obtained her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. During her clinical rotation, she was one of six interns selected for the Pediatric focus shift, giving her additional training in this area. Prior to studying Naturopathic Medicine, she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Acadia University. Lauren is a member of the Nova Scotia Association of Naturopathic Doctors (NSAND), the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta (CNDA) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). She also holds additional training in Intravenous Nutrient Therapy (IVIT).

Lauren believes in taking the time to understand each patient’s current and past medical history in order to address the root cause of illness; treating the person as a whole. Her treatment plans are individualized for each patient to ensure optimal outcomes. She believes that every patient deserves to have all aspects of their health to be considered, not just their symptoms alone. Lauren has a special interest in treating hormonal health, which ranges from thyroid conditions and dealing with high stress environments to menopause, menstrual and fertility concerns by using natural interventions. She is also passionate about digestive health, mental and emotional health, and sleep disturbances.

Lauren likes to spend her free time cooking, knitting, running, hiking and going to the farmer’s market. She is thrilled to be back in her home province of Nova Scotia after a brief move to Saskatchewan.

Enter below for your chance to win up to $500 with a Naturopathic Doctor.

Environmental toxicity is such an important thing to address. Our environmental burden can be significantly reduced if we make modest changes to the foods we eat, the products we use and making sure our organs of elimination are functioning properly.

⚪️Melatonin for Endometriosis⚪️
Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone that helps to regulate sleep-wake cycles within the body, so you might be wondering how or why it works for endometriosis.
✧Melatonin is coming to the forefront for its role as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
✧A RCT from 2013 highlighted the efficacy of melatonin compared to placebo in the treatment of endometriosis associated chronic pelvic pain.
✧Results showed a reduction in daily pain scores by 39.5%, dysmenorrhea (painful periods) by 38.1% and reduced analgesic use by 80%.
As always, please check with your Naturopathic Doctor or other licensed health care provider before trying any health products.
