In light of the events in Vancouver, it is incredibly evident that we need to invest in mental health care and advocate to our governments to invest in early intervention, detection, and treatment of psychological issues. It’s hard to imagine the gravity of loss today. But over and over again, we have individuals struggling with mental health and feeling disenfranchised committing these crimes. It’s complicated, but not so complicated at the same time. The loss is unimaginable and heart breaking. The anguish that follows after this tragedy for individuals, families, communities is difficult. Since the start of my career in the 90’s, early intervention has been “lip service” … I’d like to see it be a priority.

Rest in peace to all those who lost their lives today. ☮️

Happy 20th Anniversary to Dr. Kiran Pure and Associates Ltd. 20 years ago today, Dr. Pure opened her Practice at 90 Portland Street, the home of her mother’s business called Sara Ladies’ Boutique. Dr. Pure worked in her mother’s clothing shop during high school and in her undergrad studies at Dal University and whenever she could until 2004. The site of her Practice is a very familiar place to her and a part of her family’s history. Dr. Pure is grateful for the trust children and families have in her and for the opportunity to provide care to communities across Nova Scotia.
