National Pain Awareness Week!
➡️Lets talk about chronic pain, chronic pain affects roughly 6 million people in Canada! That’s roughly %20 of the population. These people wake up every single morning with pain ranging from chronic pain that has not been fixed from a past issue, or a pain that has an unknown cause. Chronic pain can be cause by an already ongoing issue (arthritis, degeneration, post concussion, etc) or the cause may be unknown(wake up and have a consist pain in your foot, low back, head, left abdomen) anywhere’s!!
▶️This can have a major impact on peoples day to day lives, going through an never ending cycle of having the pain , which in return limits them in their activities like sports 🏀,family time, hobbies, social events etc! So not only does chronic pain effect the body physically but it can be mentally taxing on someone as well dealing with this non-stop cycle.
▶️I hate to say it but when it comes to chronic pain, our health care system sucks at providing individuals reassurance and support in finding a cure. Most often times people get told “it’s just in your head” “your pain isn’t real” which is a total LIE! It is real! This is so hard to hear from some people when they come in with chronic pain that the “professionals” seem to just shrug off!
▶️I WILL NOT be one of those practitioners that will shrug you off or tell you it’s in your head! I will make sure we come up with a plan and refer you to who I think may be beneficially you! I always try my best to make sure the client gets the most out of their treatment!
▶️In the world we live in, remember to be kind, we have no idea what people or going through or suffering through❤️
▶️I’m hoping each and everyday we move closer into finding way to help with chronic pain and decrease the number from 6 million people to none!❤️
