✨ You don’t have to wait until burnout.
It’s easy to push through…
“I’ll rest later.”
“It’s just a busy week.”
“I’m fine.”
But those small signs your body is sending? They matter.
🌿 Trouble sleeping
🌿 Constant tension in your neck & shoulders
🌿 Feeling overwhelmed or more irritable than usual
🌿 Low energy—even after resting
This is your body asking for support—not something to ignore.
Acupuncture helps regulate your nervous system, improve sleep, and bring your body back into balance before you hit that breaking point.
💫 It’s not just about fixing burnout—it’s about preventing it.
You’re allowed to take care of yourself now, not just when things feel unmanageable.

We are so pleased to welcome Anika Dayus back to our team 🤍

Many of you may remember Anika from previous years, when she completed her practicum with us. After taking some time away from the massage world, we are truly grateful to have her return and share her gifts once again.

Anika is now offering services as a Relaxation Therapist (please note she is not a Registered Therapist). She brings with her a high level of professionalism, a deeply holistic approach, and the ability to create a calming, restorative experience for every client she treats.

Originally from Alaska, Anika has called Dawson Creek home for the past 14 years. She completed her 1000-hour Spa Practitioner Certification, specializing in Swedish relaxation massage with a focus on overall well-being and individualized care.

Her passion for health and helping others is evident in every session, supporting clients in feeling balanced, restored, and truly cared for.

Outside of the clinic, Anika enjoys time with her husband and their two corgis, and finds inspiration in nature and the ocean—elements that beautifully reflect the calm, grounding energy she brings into her work.

We are so happy to have you back, Anika ✨

🌿 Acupuncture for Sciatica Relief 🌿
Struggling with sciatica pain? You’re not alone. Sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve becomes irritated or compressed, causing pain that can travel from the lower back down through the hips, buttocks, and legs.
Acupuncture offers a natural, drug-free way to help manage sciatica symptoms. By stimulating specific points on the body, acupuncture can help:
✨ Reduce inflammation
✨ Relax tight muscles
✨ Improve circulation
✨ Support the body’s natural pain-relief response
✨ Promote nerve healing and recovery
Many patients report reduced pain, improved mobility, and better overall comfort after a series of treatments.
If you’re dealing with shooting leg pain, numbness, or lower back discomfort, acupuncture may help you get back to moving with ease.

Yesterday, I (Katie Johnston R.Ac) had the privilege of traveling to Tumbler Ridge to offer acupuncture services in support of the community. It was an incredibly meaningful experience, and I’m grateful to share that we were able to treat 22 patients in just three hours.

The resilience of this community is truly remarkable. Despite the trauma and challenges they have endured, individuals continue to show up for their health and well-being with strength and courage. It was an honour to provide care, hold space, and support so many people in such a short time.

I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and for the warmth and appreciation shown throughout the day. Being able to serve in this capacity reinforces why I do this work.

We look forward to returning in the future and continuing to support the healing and recovery of this incredible community.

Our hearts are with the entire Tumbler Ridge community during this incredibly difficult time. In moments like these, it’s so important to come together, support one another, and create space for healing—both physically and emotionally.

As a small gesture of care and support, I, Katie Johnston, will be offering complimentary acupuncture sessions for families directly affected. Acupuncture can help calm the nervous system, reduce stress and anxiety, support sleep, and assist the body in processing trauma and restoring balance.

You are not alone. You are held, supported, and in our thoughts. 🤍

If you or someone you know could benefit, please reach out to book or learn more.

With compassion and care,
Katie Johnston

🪡 What’s the difference between Acupuncture and Dry Needling?

As a licensed acupuncturist trained in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and advanced Level 3 dry needling, this is one of the most common questions I’m asked.

While the same sterile, single-use needle is used, the intention and clinical approach behind each treatment is different.

✨ Acupuncture
Acupuncture is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine and takes a whole-body approach. Point selection is guided by diagnostic patterns to help regulate the nervous system, improve circulation, restore internal balance, and address the root cause — not just the symptoms.

💪 Dry Needling
Dry needling is based on modern anatomy and targets specific muscle trigger points. It’s commonly used to release muscle tension, improve mobility, and reduce localized musculoskeletal pain.

🤍 An Integrative Approach
Because I am trained and experienced in both acupuncture and dry needling, I often integrate these approaches within treatment. This allows me to address both the systemic patterns within the body and the localized muscular components, creating a more comprehensive and individualized treatment plan. By combining these techniques, I am able to better support each patient across the full scope of their concerns and optimize overall therapeutic outcomes.

👉 The takeaway: same tool, different clinical reasoning — and when used together, they can provide a more complete and effective approach to healing.

Your body is always communicating—sometimes in whispers, sometimes in signals we’ve learned to ignore. 🌿
✨ Signs your body might be asking for help:
• Constant fatigue or low energy 😴
• Headaches, jaw tension, or neck pain 💆‍♀️
• Trouble sleeping or feeling “wired but tired” 🌙
• Digestive discomfort or bloating 🌱
• Stress, anxiety, or feeling emotionally off 😮‍💨
These symptoms don’t mean anything is wrong with you—they’re often your body’s way of asking for support and balance. Acupuncture works by helping regulate the nervous system, improve circulation, and encourage your body’s natural healing response. 🧠✨
Listening early can make a big difference. Your body deserves care, not just coping. 💛

🌤️ Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)? Acupuncture may help. 🌿

As the days get shorter, many people experience low mood, fatigue, brain fog, and sleep changes. Acupuncture (Acu) can be a supportive therapy for SAD by helping to:

✨ Regulate the nervous system
✨ Support mood-related neurotransmitters
✨ Improve sleep and energy
✨ Reduce stress and anxiety

Your mental health matters—support is available. 💛
If seasonal changes are affecting you, acupuncture may be one more tool to help you feel like yourself again.
