Deep River and Area Food Bank and Deep River and District Health recently received donations from the employees at Des Joachims Generating Station. The cash donation was from monthly charity luncheons at the station. Thanks to all who donated!

Laundry Month at the Food Bank
The food bank was thrilled to receive a donation of over 6,000 laundry strips from TRU EARTH, a Canadian company committed to providing an environmentally responsible way of doing laundry without plastic bottles. Each strip is detergent which dissolves to wash one load of laundry. Laundry strips with instructions are being distributed to food bank clients throughout the month of September.

The Food Bank is getting very low on crackers, cookies, cereals, soup, bottled water and toilet paper. Our clients also enjoy instant coffee.
These are things that we don’t normally purchase so if you can help, it would be much appreciated!
