💚 Thanks to The Deep River & District Community Foundation💚

On behalf of the community members in need, North Renfrew Family Services is deeply grateful to the Deep River & District Community Foundation for their generous $12,000 grant.

This funding directly supported:
🏠 Homelessness prevention initiatives
⚽ Youth sports and camps for local families
🦷👓 Emergency dental and eyeglasses support

This generous financial support helps us strengthen our community and provide hope where it’s needed most. 🌿✨

🌿 The Giving Tree –> Helping Our Community, One Gift at a Time

Did you know NRFS runs a special program called The Giving Tree?

It’s a simple but powerful way to support individuals and families in our community who are accessing services through North Renfrew Family Services (NRFS).

Through The Giving Tree, community members donate gently used or new items, and we connect those donations directly with clients who need them most, whether it’s clothing, baby gear, small household items, or seasonal essentials.

Examples of donated items include:

Winter coats & boots

Baby and children’s supplies

Hygiene products

Small furniture or home goods

Gift cards or holiday gifts

Who Can Receive Items?
Donated items are shared with individuals and families currently accessing programs or services through NRFS.

Who Can Donate?
Anyone in the community! Whether you're doing a fall clean-out, replacing furniture, or just want to help, your donations make a big difference.

We’re incredibly grateful to Tim Hortons for selecting North Renfrew Family Services as the recipient of this year’s Smile Cookie Campaign proceeds!

A heartfelt thank you to Shen and Ania Breckon, and their staff for their support of such a successful campaign. Also, we could not do it without the time and effort of all of the volunteers who decorated every cookie!

These funds go directly toward supporting our community members who find themselves in need, ranging from homelessness prevention, groceries, transportation to essential appointments, and so much more. In our community, we all come together to lift each other up! Thank you for supporting a cause that truly makes a difference in our community.

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to recognize, celebrate, and learn about the rich histories, diverse cultures, and invaluable contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

We stand in respect and gratitude for the Indigenous communities whose deep connection to this land spans thousands of years.
This month is an opportunity to reflect on the truths of our shared history, amplify Indigenous voices, and support ongoing efforts toward reconciliation and justice.

We encourage everyone to take time to learn more, listen deeply, and engage meaningfully — not just in June, but all year long.

Thanks to our AMAZING community and rockstar local volunteers, Tim Hortons sold a jaw-dropping 5,182 Smile Cookies this year!!

Not only did we crush last year’s record , but we also came together to raise money that will directly support the wellbeing of our community. Because nothing says “we care” like eating cookies for a cause! ❤️

Huge shoutout to everyone who baked, decorated bought, smiled, and maybe even snuck an extra cookie 😉. You made this sweet success possible!
