✨Massage for a local cause event ✨
Being in a small community , I’m sure many of you have heard of our little local Deloraine boy named Abel! And if you haven’t heard of him, let me explain a little about his courageous journey!
Abel who is now 3 years old, was born with a rare birth defect called Craniosynostosis. In Canada 1 in 2500 children are born with this condition .
Craniosynostosis caused Abels skull bones (sutures) to fuse together too early during his growth and development . This resulted in pressure on his brain causing a limited amount of room for the brain tissue to be able to grow and expand as development continued . This could only be fixed one way- Surgery.
Abel had what are called extractors surgically placed in his skull to expand the skull bones and reposition the fusion allowing for more space for his brain to grow.
Abel has had several appointments with Manitoba’s top surgeons, doctors, nurses , and wonderful support staff at Winnipeg’s children’s hospital, all with his strong, supportive family by his side.
Abels mom who works locally in health care says she has been fortunate to be able to take a leave from work to be able to be there for her son in every way possible, and provide the care for him that he needs. Abels mom has stated several times - “ Abel is such an amazing little boy, a strong fighter who makes me proud everyday and never ceases to amaze me”.
Being from a small town 3 and a half hours away from Winnipeg, has resulted in Abel’s family having to travel several times monthly/ weekly for continued doctors appointments and follow up appointments at the children’s hospital. With the high cost of fuel, hotel stays, medications, etc… It has been a challenge for Abel’s family with so many continued medical expenses and just ordinary day to day life expenses on top of all of this.
Its tough life journeys like Abel’s which inspires a community to come together to help support in any way possible. All proceeds from this massage for a cause will be donated to the Craniosynostosis foundation, and to Abel for continued medical expenses . Any donation big or small is appreciated beyond words.

During these 3 days I will only be accepting 1/2 hour appointments to try and accommodate as many people possible to raise funds for this great cause. 😊 Blue Cross will not be accepted during these days as this is a fundraising event.
