This exciting event supports Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation, and funds raised this year will go towards a Toddler Outdoor Play Space in the new Beedie Long-Term Care Centre daycare. On Saturday, November 8th, Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation will be hosting our 26th Annual Moonlight Gala– All That Glitters at Tsawwassen Springs in support of equipment and capital improvements at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care including an ambitious $8 million campaign to fully upgrade Delta Hospital’s Endoscopy Program. We would like to introduce this year’s committee who are working hard to make this year’s gala a success.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) has generously committed $100,000 to Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation’s Coming Home Campaign, supporting the new Beedie Long-Term Care Centre. This transformative project will replace Mountain View Manor with 200 beds, a 32-space Day Program for Older Adults, and a 49-space stand-alone child daycare facility.

As part of this five-year pledge, AMYA’s 2024 Run for Delta raised $20,000 to support the new Beedie Long-Term Care Centre. The proceeds from this annual event will continue to contribute to the ‘Coming Home’ campaign, helping to ensure high-quality long-term care for residents in Delta. At Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation, we are grateful to the Delta Optimist for spotlighting urgent community concerns including the recent letter to the editor, “Action Needed to Fix Healthcare Crisis.” These concerns are deeply felt here in Delta, and we want to reassure our community that DHCH Foundation is actively working with Fraser Health, the Ministry of Health, and Delta’s Mayor and Council to address these challenges. This week, we had a very special visitor at our office - 6-year-old Elle and her mom, Carlie! Elle stopped by to donate $100 she raised by selling her delicious cupcakes this past weekend.
Each summer, Elle chooses a meaningful way to give back to her community. After a recent visit to Delta Hospital’s Emergency Department, she decided to dedicate this year’s fundraising efforts to Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation. We’re so inspired by Elle’s kindness, hard work, and generosity. Thank you, Elle, for being a shining example of compassion in action!

Emergency services are vital in life-threatening situations. However, they are not set up to care for routine illnesses, and they do not work on a first-come, first-served basis. During busy times, people with minor illnesses may need to wait. Get to know your other health care options.
