Lung Conference March 2026!

On March 14th, 2026 I attended the 28th annual Lung Respiratory Conference.

As a physician in British Columbia, Canada, and a Medical Aesthetic Injector,

I believe continuing education is vital-even when it seems unrelated to aesthetic injections.

It’s all connected: understanding medical histories, contraindications, and potential side effects of treatments like Botulinum Toxin or Fillers is key.

🔬 New Approach to Nefertiti Neck-Science in Action 🔬

Aesthetic medicine is constantly evolving -and so are our injection techniques.

A recent study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology (January 9, 2025) introduced a new, more precise approach to neck Botulinum/Neuromoduloators injections, focusing only on the upper part of the platysma muscle.

📌 Why is this important?

Traditional protocols involve injections along the entire length of the platysma muscle, which means:

• more injection points
• higher total doses
• increased discomfort and bruising
• potentially higher risk of side effects

What did researchers discover?

Recent anatomical studies showed that motor innervation of the platysma is concentrated mainly in its upper portion.

The lower part of the muscle is largely sensory and plays a minimal role in active contraction.

🧪 Study highlights:

• 15 patients (ages 30+, average age 47)
