✨Teacher Spotlight✨

Meet Christine! 👋🏼

“My yoga and meditation journey started over 40 years ago during training to become a psychiatric nurse. A lifelong learner, over the years I have had the opportunity to gain additional knowledge and skills, deepen my practice and integrate yoga, meditation, mindfulness, pain management, mental imagery and somatic body work into my roles as a counsellor, child life specialist and university professor. I am a qualified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction facilitator, Labyrinth facilitator, and most recently Yin Yoga and Yin Somatics teacher. I aim to provide an inclusive, safe and welcoming environment for all to discover their practice in meaningful ways.
When I am not in the studio, l enjoy service to community as a Family Support Volunteer at the NICU at BC Women’s Hospital and Delta Emergency Support Services. I am ever curious and enjoy discovering places and spaces through travel on pilgrimage, long distance trekking and finding and walking labyrinths.”

You can join Christine every Friday at 4:30 PM for a “Free Weekly Meditation” and on Tuesdays at 11:00 AM for “Somatic Awareness Yoga” (in-studio only).

You can also join Christine’s upcoming “Autumn Equinox Meditation & Labyrinth Walk” on Saturday, September 20th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM!

Meet Kim ( // ), Kim has been on the journey of Yoga since 2008 and became a teacher 2019. Having an extensive background as a professional, figure, skater and dancer, keeps her classes, creative and challenging! She has a fun lighthearted sense of humour and heartfelt connection to Yoga and Yogis. For Kimberley Yoga is self healing, and the mobility in class keeps you grounded & young. The breath through Yoga is like the dance of life.

Join Christine Slavik on Saturday, August 9th for a workshop bringing together somatic awareness and mindful movement to embody yoga practice. It is a way to nourish and regulate the nervous system, release held and patterned tension, and enhance wellness for the mind and body.
