Purpose

Maslow said it best, “what one can be, one must be”, and we at Sportmed Max are inspired to restoring lives and changing painful or function limiting musculoskeletal challenges. Pain is our great motivator; we understand that below the surfaces of pain and compromised movements are multiple body systems to consider when seeking long lasting health solutions. We commit to studying the late

st scientific research when implementing skilled techniques for the purpose of enhancing and restoring our clients’ lives, so they can resume their activities and lifestyles with longevity while aging healthfully. Mission

Here at Sportmed Max, our mission is to serve our clients as they move along the paths of pain, rehabilitation, function limiting challenges, healthy aging, injury prevention and education. We support our clients’ health care goals with the carry through of a patient-centred approach to individualized care. This begins with listening to our clients’ concerns, and understanding the personal experiences they have with their pain and health challenges. By offering a caring and trusting environment where unique needs and challenges can be expressed, and through shared decision making, a comprehensive, treatment plan is chosen. Our collaborative, educational and hands-on efforts to improve, and restore the natural functioning of multiple body systems are strengthened through the application of innovative treatments, modalities and prescribed movement plans. Along the way, the development of goals is accompanied by sustainable health care solutions. Vision

📣 Top 5 Things To Do To Avoid Having To See a Guy Like Me 🤓

I’m a doctor. But trust me, I’d rather not see you in my office for a heart attack, cancer scare, or diabetes checkup.

So here it is: the Top 5 evidence-based things you can start doing TODAY to avoid needing someone like me (unless it’s for a high five 🖐️).

These aren’t fads. They’re foundational.

💪 1. Move your body like your life depends on it. Because… it kinda does.

Regular exercise slashes your risk of all-cause mortality by up to 33%. Just 30 minutes a day of brisk walking, dancing, or any movement you enjoy can reduce your risk of depression, dementia, diabetes, and heart disease. 🏃‍♂️ Motion is medicine. Period.

🌈 2. Eat the rainbow, literally

The wider the variety of plant colors you eat, the more powerful your immune system becomes. Each color = different phytochemicals = different superpowers. One study showed people eating 30+ plant types per week had more resilient microbiomes than those eating 10 or fewer.🍓🫐🥦🌽🥕 Diversity is your dietary defense.

💩 3. Increase your fiber intake, drastically.

Most people eat around 15g of fiber per day. We need 30-50g, and only plants contain fiber. Fiber feeds your good gut bacteria, lowers cholesterol, regulates blood sugar, and keeps you... regular. Bonus: high-fiber diets are linked to lower risk of colorectal cancer by 25%.

🧈 4. Cut back on saturated fat, and no, it doesn’t have to be zero. This isn’t about fear, it’s about balance. Saturated fat (found in red meat, processed meats, butter, cheese, etc.) raises LDL cholesterol and contributes to plaque build-up. Moderate your intake, and swap in healthier fats like avocado, nuts, seeds, olive oil, and yes, even some dark chocolate. 😉🫀 Your arteries will thank you.

🧘‍♀️ 5. Master your stress before it masters you

Chronic stress isn’t just uncomfortable, it’s deadly. It can worsen inflammation, gut health, sleep, blood sugar, blood pressure, and even tumor progression. Practices like meditation, deep breathing, exercise, connection, and even journaling can literally reverse damage. Stress less ≠ care less. It means care more, wisely.

🌿 These 5 things are rooted in the 6 pillars of Lifestyle Medicine: Nutrition 🌱Movement 🏃‍♂️Sleep 😴Stress management 🧘‍♂️Connection 🤝Avoiding risky substances 🚭
And no, you don’t have to be perfect. You just have to start. ❤️

👊 Want to avoid chronic disease AND see your doc only for high-fives and ninja tricks? Start here.
