The 4 secrets of transformation

Deep inside, you already know these four secrets – in fact, you’ve driven by them. You just haven’t deciphered the code
yet. Once you truly absorb the secrets and put them into action, you will, for the first time in your life, completely understand what went wrong with every single diet you’ve tried. The secrets put lifelong transformation within your reach.

1- the first secret: Believe

I’ve always said that belief is the magic ingredient. When we believe we can, we tap into our extraordinary human ability to persevere, and we put forth the effort required to get us to our destination. The secret might sound so simple (because it is): believing yourself, and believe that your transformation is possible. Not just transformation of your body, but lifelong transformation of yourself. With belief, you’re capable of accomplishing things you never before thought you could do. You tap into extraordinary inner power that gives you the drive and perseverance you need to get going and keep going, stay in and day out, to lose that weight and change your life. Belief gives you the power to achieve the extraordinary.

2- the second secret: keep your promises

ïżŒ Each habit starts at a commitment to make small change in your daily routine. The real reason clients make incredible achievements is that when they make a promise to themselves, they keep it. Throughout history, “ a man of his words “ has earned respect and admiration. Because of this, most of us are terrific at keeping promises to others, but what about keeping your promises to the most valuable and important person in the world? What about keeping your promises to yourself !? Integrity– honouring your word – is the real key to transformation! The more you honour your integrity, the more dignity you have. ïżŒ each promise made is another step toward valuing and loving yourself, and a brick in the foundation of your transformation. Each promise kept – your integrity – is the mortar that hold the bricks together. Without even getting into the pain of broken promises to yourself, knowing that each broken promises leaves you feeling with shame and guilt and undermine your self-esteem, your self-love, and your self-will.

3- The third secret: fall without failing

Sometimes, even when we make small, attainable promises, or set small, attainable goals, we don’t manage to keep them. Look, nobody’s perfect. We’re all human, and life happens. We’re all going to fall sometimes. In fact, we’re going to fall many, many times in our lives! And that’s OK, but let’s prepare to fall without failing. ïżŒ There are three simple steps to getting back on your feet after you fall. 1-courage to confess. The very first thing you need to do to recover from a fall is to confess. Get that emotional weight off your chest. Walk over to the mirror, look yourself in the eye, and confess to yourself that you broke a promise you made to yourself. Don’t keep any facts or feelings in. Let it all out! After you confess to yourself, confess to somebody else. Saying it out loud, to another person, makes your confession that much more powerful. 2- reach down and reassess. Once you own up to your mistakes, reassess the promises that you made to yourself. Why did you break them? Maybe something came up, maybe there was an unexpected Life event, when you reassess I promise you broke for valid reasons, you can realistically expect to get back on track tomorrow. But maybe you’re better off more than you can chew and set your goals too high. In these terms, you can reassess your expectations of yourself. To keep falling from turning into failing, ask yourself, sincerely, if your vision is realistic and attainable. 3-rise up and recommit. Reassessing your transformation vision clarifies what’s possible for you right now. You know what you can honestly promise yourself and what goals are smart for you. Self-confidence and powers you to remit your transformation journey. Toughen your commitment by declaring your promises and goals. Say them out loud. Write them down. Announce them to people that you love and trust.

4- The fourth secret: unite

It takes a village ! Humans need one another. We find strength in numbers, so we do everything together, as a group. The support and encouragement of others help you believe in yourself and keep your promises to yourself. Your connections with other people create a safety net that lets you fall without failing The power of your tribe and power you: it’s the wind at your back as you make your voyage to health and happiness. It’s been said that people become like their friends, loved ones, and associates, (even their pets 😉 ). If you wanna be healthy, you should hang out with healthy people and absorb their energy. If you want to be happy, you should surround yourself with happy people. Interacting with those who are already where you want to be, learning from them and adopting their vision, makes it easier to become who you wanna be. Group energy gives you a leg up on transformation in three big ways: accountability, motivation, and healing.
You might not wanna hear it, but I’ll say it right upfront: your immediate family and friends might not be the best supporters. I strongly recommend that, right off the bat, you put every single member of your family on hold when it comes to your transformation team. This might disappoint you, but follow my advice on this. Granted, there are occasional exceptions out there, but in my experience, your husband or mother or sister may not belong on your team – it’s just too emotionally complicated. The same might go for many of your friends: you must be completely, absolutely confident that they’re on your side 100%. It’s not that your family and friends are bad people, but their vision for you might not align with yours. Maybe you come from an overweight family that doesn’t understand why you want to get in shape. Maybe your spouse is afraid that once you lose the weight you’ll leave him. Maybe your best friend is a junk food ju**ie who would feel rejected if you stop scarfing nachos with her. That’s all right! You love them, but these folks don’t belong on your support squad, if this is the case. However, if they love and support your decision unconditionally, let their actions earn them a valuable spot on your team.

Hope this helps ✌

If you haven’t had a chance to follow Dr. Jules Cormier yet and your either in the health and wellness industry or your just wanted to improve your overall health and wellbeing, maybe your missing out!!

Jules talk on Wellness and weight loss yesterday Wellness Event Ă  Cap-Acadie! was a great rendition of what it takes to not only maintain a healthy weight but also how to think about health altogether.

« It’s not just calories in = calories out » and while there is an important component of caloric balance, there’s is a key distinction between what type of calories are ingested. ( the hyperpalatable ultra processed foods will leave you feeling overfed, yet under nourished.) but it doesn’t mean you can’t ever eat them! The best diet is usually the one that is less restrictive to you!! You wanna focus on a regime that is sustainable over years and that will help you make your healthy lifestyle successful. ïżŒ

An interesting fact was that 95% of Canadians are actually deficient in fibre, consuming only about 14% of their daily diet, we should aim at about 30% for optimal health. This alone could help regulate hunger, satiety hormones, and improve so many more chemical functions in the body. Including your mood. 😉

When it comes to healthy eating, we should focus on a Whole Foods diet, avoiding trans fats, reducing saturated fats, while increasing unsaturated fats, reduce ultra processed foods and processed red meats, and increasing plant proteins.

While you think this might be challenging, it might be easier than you think to incorporate into your lifestyle. It doesn’t have to be all perfect. It’s a balance about living right and enjoying your life and taking care of your health and well-being.

Remember that nutrition impacts weight loss more than exercise, but exercise impacts healthspan more than nutrition. ïżŒ

I also wanted to take a moment to thank and congratulate Karine Jacob for her wonderful initiative in my hometown with the Centre Énergie Cap-Acadie and the event yesterday.

Her energy and passion for wellness is contagious and She’s making a big impact into the small community. If you’re in the area of Cap Acadie and are looking for a motiving community, this is the place to be!!

Stay healthy my friends 😎 ✌ đŸ„—

I’ve always taken notes during speaking events but I also try to use the information that I learn to help integrate the knowledge into my active working memory.

Here’s a few notes I took during yesterday’s Level Up Conference 2024:

Tyler Hayden started off the morning full of energy and enthusiasm. He mentioned that « Enthusiasm is caught not taught » meaning surrounding ourselves with higher energy people will help us have more energy and he brought it on with great stories that was as much entertaining as it was captivating. He also mentioned to stop talking about what’s not working and focus on what is working, Which was a good reminder, we sometimes over analyze what’s not working and forget to switch our focus on what is. And then there was that story about the random Swiss guy. And I asked myself the question: how can I be more helpful to the people in my life? That guy saved his life just to give him that magical experience.

Then we had Sarah Kinlin who facilitated more of a working session and spoke more about how to provide feedback, breaking down objectives into bite-size actions, and who to surround yourself with. A few key phrases that stuck.:
-If you don’t have a mentor, get a mentor!!
-blocking off small bit of time on high priority task that are important. (30 minutes is better than nothing.!)

The third speaker was James Mullinger, Who is comedian/storyteller that moved from the UK to Saint John New Brunswick after everyone telling him not to. He had a story about Jerry Seinfeld telling him to make a list of everything other people expects of you to do and to do the opposite of that. (I’m not sure that would work in every circumstances, but I get the point!) you do you! Focus on what you can control and really show up to do your work. As you do that, people will notice and start talking, creating a ripple effect that can expand into a captive momentous audience. He also iterated that we are lucky in New Brunswick and that we should talk about how we love it here.

Next on the list was the animated Krista Walsh who made sure we knew it was important to “try everything once” we have so many opportunities out there and sometimes we say no when we say yes (and vice versa) but it was more to create more Joy de vivre and enjoy the life we have with wonderful experiences. Her second point was to ask for help, and helping us remember that most people do want to help us in anyway they can. Thirdly, find someone to believe in you. It can be just one person, but it also can be three people. I wrote down to be on the lookout for a mentor in my personal life and one in my professional life that can help me in the areas that I’m wanting to grow.

And lastly, but surely not the least important was the last speaker, Mark Black. Who again delivered an emotional speech that hit home for me. Reiterating the “change your focus, change your reality” mantra, to be open to opportunities, say yes more often even if it messes up my schedule sometimes. To shorten the gap between (oh no!! -> and Now what?) to focus on what we can control and to live for today. Mark was basically on his death bed when he got a second chance to life, making him realize how precious life was, he decided to make the best of it by beating the odds and becoming a double lung and heart transplant recipient and running marathons and becoming a professional speaker and sharing his story to the world, hoping to ignite fires under people to help make the world a better place.

Thanks to all the organizers and to everyone who helped make the event so wonderful.

Progress over perfection

06/18/2024

Just because something is hard to get or might seem unattainable, doesn’t mean it’s worthwhile or valuable for that person.

Something that is worthwhile is fulfilling, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, and lovingly.

Most smart people realize that there is great value in stepping outside of one’s comfort zone, And most worthwhile goals will require such courage. but just because it’s difficult doesn’t necessarily mean it’s worthwhile.

Choose wiselyâœŒïžđŸ˜Ž ïżŒ

turning adversity to triumph

Being indecisive after high school on were to actually direct my future career path, I decided to pridefully take on one of the toughest jobs on the market.. A correctional officer!!

This choice was made because of the beliefs created by modern society’s standards that most people fix their future on. Get a job. Make lot’s of money. to pay bills and buy things. To impress people you don’t know and that most likely you don’t like.

But this career is definitely not the easiest one and as most correctional officers tell you, it changes you as a person. The facts of seeing, hearing, and feeling what goes on in this tiny world on a continuous basis has tremendous impacts on the human psyche. Have you ever heard “we are the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with”. What do you believe happens when criminals, murderers, and rapists get together in their little community!! The effects are multiply by the number of inmates in there, that’s what!

I was definitely affected by this, as most are (even if they don’t admit it!).
