Karen Marr’s 25 years of dedicated service with VON is a remarkable milestone and a true reflection of her unwavering commitment to care, leadership, and community. Beginning her journey on the road as a Registered Nurse in Digby County, Karen built her foundation through hands-on compassion, supporting clients and families where it mattered most—in their homes and communities.
Her passion and leadership quickly became evident as she stepped into the role of Digby Nurse Manager, where she guided teams with confidence, empathy, and a deep understanding of frontline care. Today, as Director of Home & Community Care, Karen continues to lead with both excellence and heart, shaping the future of care delivery while never losing sight of the people at its center.
Karen is known for being exceptionally thorough and organized, ensuring that every detail is considered and every decision is thoughtful. More importantly, she leads with kindness—consistently demonstrating respect, empathy, and genuine care for her colleagues and the clients we serve.
