We work to increase the access to essential medicines and healthcare services to people living in vulnerable communities around the globe.

Health Partners International of Canada (HPIC) is a humanitarian not-for-profit relief and development organization dedicated to improving access to medicine and enhancing health in the developing world. HPIC contributes to well-being by providing donated essential medicines, supplies and vaccines, building national health sector capacities, and responding to emergencies and health threats. We partner with a network of ministries of health, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and healthcare professionals, with pharmaceutical and healthcare product companies, and with Canadian government departments; and we count on the financial support of individual donors, foundations and corporations. Because of our unique model, HPIC multiplies every donated dollar to provide, without discrimination, at least $10 of free medical aid.

𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 💙 Each year, 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐚 (𝐇𝐏𝐈𝐂) provides critical medical aid to approximately one million vulnerable individuals worldwide, who would otherwise lack access to essential healthcare. This life-changing impact is made possible through the collective efforts of hundreds of dedicated partners, volunteers, and supporters who work tirelessly alongside HPIC.
Our mission is rooted in the 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲, whose generous donations of surplus medicines and supplies form the foundation of HPIC's humanitarian response. HPIC mobilizes financial support to cover shipping and logistics, ensuring that every shipment is received, processed, and distributed efficiently to trusted partners in destination countries in need. This intricate process often unfolds under tight timelines, particularly during emergency responses. Our staff continuously assess medicine availability, partner capacity, and official health needs across the 130 countries where HPIC operates —ensuring that every shipment delivers maximum impact.

Each year, during the first full week of February, Canada celebrates 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 (𝐈𝐃𝐖) — a time to recognize how Canadians contribute to the global mission of eradicating poverty and building a more equitable world. This year’s theme is 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩.
For 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐚 (𝐇𝐏𝐈𝐂), partnerships are at the heart of our mission and impact. They represent collaboration, trust, and shared purpose in improving health and restoring hope in vulnerable communities around the world.

Health Partners International Canada (HPIC) joins humanitarian organizations and countries around the world in celebrating 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲. Observed each year on January 24, this day recognizes the vital role of education in promoting peace, development, and personal empowerment.
Education is at the heart of HPIC’s goal to engage with community leaders and health workers to improve health care practices and awareness. In the past year, approximately 300 nurses, midwives, pharmacists, and other frontline health providers participated in HPIC-supported capacity-building sessions, workshops, and trainings. These initiatives strengthen local health systems and equip healthcare workers with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver quality care in some of the world’s most underserved and crisis-affected regions.
Through health care education and training, HPIC continues to promote sustainable and lasting change.

We are deeply grateful for the precious donation of 𝐈𝐳𝐳𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐬 recently received from the talented crafters at Club de l'âge d'Or du Hâvre-des-Iles in Laval, Quebec.
The Doll Initiative is a heartfelt humanitarian initiative that began with 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐈𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐝, who recognized the need for comfort among children affected by war. At HPIC, these small handmade treasures serve a dual purpose — they are used as an environmentally friendly way to safely pack the medicines we ship, and upon arrival, they become “portable hugs” for children living in crisis. For many, these dolls are their first and only toy, bringing warmth and hope in difficult times.
The Laval group began knitting Izzy Dolls last fall after a friend emailed one of the members, Jocelyne Robitaille, an article on the project published in the Sherbrooke Tribune newspaper. After presenting the idea to the club at their first meeting last September, everyone enthusiastically joined in.

From our generous pharmaceutical partners to our dedicated volunteers, donors, and community organizations like 𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲, every box of medicine delivered represents a shared commitment to health and hope.

One inspiring example is our partnership with the Creston Valley Rotary Club, whose members travel each year to 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐬 with 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐬 (HMKs) filled with essential medicines and 𝐈𝐳𝐳𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐬. On their most recent mission, the team extended their reach beyond the 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥, bringing care to a small mountain town where they hosted a free weekend clinic for new mothers and children.

Many of the mothers who attended had limited or no access to healthcare and faced challenges such as poor nutrition and untreated illnesses. Thanks to HPIC-provided medicines, the team was able to treat long-standing cases of malnutrition, yeast infections, respiratory and stomach infections, and other common ailments—bringing relief and renewed hope to families in need.

Health Partners International of Canada (HPIC) extends heartfelt gratitude to Union des cedres for their continued incredible support. This generous $𝟏𝟓,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 will deliver approximately $𝟏𝟓𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 of life-saving medicines and medical supplies to thousands of patients in Lebanon, where communities continue to face a severe and ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Health Partners International Canada was honoured to host the 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐚 at our Town of Oakville Distribution Centre last week.
We took a behind-the-scenes look at the many processes involved in delivering medicines to vulnerable communities around the world, including Kenya.
Her Excellency was very impressed with the scale and scope of our work in Kenya, which includes a decade-long presence in the country addressing challenges in 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡, impacting over 80,000 Kenyans each year through health education, awareness and outreach activities.

Their incredible generosity and commitment make it possible to deliver life-saving medicines to people living in vulnerable communities who would otherwise go without. This support goes far beyond product donations—it represents compassion, collaboration, and a shared responsibility for global health.
Partners like Bayer, who recently donated a considerable amount of essential medicines to our Oakville Distribution Centre. Thanks to this partnership, displaced civilians and refugees in 𝐔𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞, orphaned children and widows in 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐢, and isolated and underserved populations in 𝐄𝐬𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢, 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐧, and 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐚 will soon have access to the urgent healthcare supplies they need.
For those living in poverty, conflict zones, or in remote areas—access to medicine can mean:

The escalation of the armed conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has displaced more than 7.3 million people, placing unprecedented pressure on local health facilities.
With the support of Unifor Canada SFJ, 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐚 (𝐇𝐏𝐈𝐂) and HEAL Africa are responding through the 𝐂𝐚𝐩 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞́ - 𝐆𝐨𝐦𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭. This initiative aims to improve working conditions for midwives, nurses, and other healthcare workers at 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 in Goma, by strengthening the capacity of 100 frontline workers.
By providing essential resources, training, and supporting initiatives that strengthen protection and wellbeing, the project empowers them to effectively respond to emergency crises.
Training sessions on Emergency Obstetric & Newborn Care and infection prevention & control have already equipped practitioners to manage obstetric emergencies, perform neonatal resuscitation, and contain epidemic risks in a city facing conflict, displacement, and recurring outbreaks.
Through strong partnerships 💪 💪 and a shared commitment to health equity, HPIC continues to deliver health and hope to communities facing crisis. Whether responding to emergencies, equipping medical mission teams, or strengthening local healthcare systems, we remain steadfast in our commitment to improving access to medicine and medical care for the world’s most vulnerable.
