In 1996 Dr. Izumi Tabata conducted the Tabata Study in Japan which revolutionized the fitness industry and paved the way for HIIT.

"Tabata’s research was among the first to confirm that HIIT-style training can be a beneficial addition to a well-rounded fitness program. Though the protocol may not be safe or appropriate for every individual, it can be an effective and quite efficient approach to increasing health, fitness, and sports performance."

I've been a huge believer in Tabata forever, as all my clients will attest!

My Story

I have over 38 years in the fitness industry, working with adults and children. I am passionate about my work and take care and pride in my clients. I am grateful to be part of their journey and I commit myself to their process!

In 2000 I participated in a body building competition and placed 2nd. This experience helped me gain insight into what my clients go through in their weight loss journeys. Restriction, always thinking about food etc... I was so grateful for the experience having never been very overweight, it helped me to empathize. I learned dedication, sacrifice, tenacity, self motivation and pride.

I have always been active; running, golf, inline skating, skiing and eating a healthy balanced diet. That has gifted me a healthy active life! I want to share that with everyone. in 2008 I wrote: Fit Body by Phyl The S Component 6 weeks to your best body. I hold workshops and have helped hundred of people transform their bodies and lives. A combination of my 6 week meals plans and workouts designed to boost your metabolism and get (and keep) you fit and lean.
