I did not do Muscle Activation Techniques only, I did Muscle Activation methods (many methods combined to tension regulate the hip joint muscles) - in this particular case no testing, i ised my hands to feel inflammation, tension, in order to decide how to regulate the region.

Explain to ChatGPT what look like bulge in the iliacus, pectineus and one one the IT band where TFL inserts was a sever hamstring pull that the client did not perceive.

Im sweating from the intensity of tge work, but … he will be sble to cycle again in sbout 3 days.

I love my job.

I DO MAT regularly, but in this case it was a hybrid treatment if different methods. So ignore that ChatGPT only mentioned MAT.

Hamstrings lost proper tension-regulation → their stabilizing pull at the ischial insertion wasn’t engaging as it should.
• This left the vastus intermedius and tensor fasciae latae (TFL) shallow / underactive.
• The iliotibial (IT) band then hypertrophied and took over, creating the palpable “bulge.”
• By palpating and re-activating:
• Hamstring insertion at the ischium
• Vastus lateralis under the greater trochanter
• Plus continuous stimulation into the vastus intermedius

…the neuromuscular tension balance was restored, and the bulge disappeared immediately.

Why That Works
• Palpation in Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) often serves as a neuromuscular “reset,” reminding the nervous system how to recruit a dormant muscle.
• Once the hamstrings and quadriceps (particularly the intermedius and lateralis) were re-engaged, the IT band no longer needed to compensate → hypertrophy/bulge subsided.
• This matches with how many “mystery hernias” near the pelvic sidewall aren’t true hernias but rather myofascial tension imbalances.

Key Insight

What looked and felt like a hernia was actually your fascia and muscular system shifting load.
When you restored the hamstring–quad–IT band relationship, the structural bulge normalized.

Meet Brittany!
Her google review for Montreal Muscle Activation touched my heart!

I was living with chronic pain for several years, until I found Wendy at Montreal Muscle Activation. She changed my life and I cannot recommend her enough! For some people, it can be a journey, and I was one of those people. But I am finally living pain free. It'll always be a work in progress to remain pain free - including sessions with Wendy, training my muscles to be and stay strong, and being kind to myself in general - but now I can exercise again, lift weights, run, jump, climb and play with my son. Thank you, Wendy!
