This phase sets the tone for everything that comes next. We’re creating control, strength, and confidence.

In this phase, we’re working on:
→ Quad activation that actually carries over
→ Hip strength (because your knee doesn’t work alone)
→ Early load tolerance + weight acceptance
→ Re-introducing controlled movement patterns

👀 Here’s a glimpse of what that can look like in our clinic:
• ASLR + progressions
• Glute bridge variations (abduction/adduction)
• Tibial IR/ER control (“gas pedal”)
• Controlled weight shifts + gait prep
• Calf strengthening

Early Post-Op ACL rehab isn’t just “rest and wait” it’s targeted, intentional work 👇

Here’s a glimpse of what we focus on early post-op:
• scar + skin mobility work
• ankle pumps for circulation
• quad activation (with some feedback)
• hip strengthening (clams + reverse clams)
• controlled single leg biking
• soft tissue work around the knee to do at home (soft tissue work)

One of the most undertrained muscle groups đź‘€

This group (adductor longus, brevis, magnus, pectineus & gracilis ) runs along the inside of the leg and plays a key role in the frontal plane — bringing the leg in, controlling lateral movement, and stabilizing the pelvis.

Add these exercises to your next training to not only strengthen the adductors, but increase knee stability, prevent injury & increase power!

This exercise challenges lateral core strength, hip abductors, and pelvic stability.

Assessing:
• Core anti-rotation strength
• Shoulder stability
• Symmetrical load through the arms
• Pelvic control

The goal is to resist movement, not create it. If your hips are rocking or one shoulder feels less stable, that’s valuable information for your training!

This exercise will quickly show you:
→ Do you lean?
→ Does one hip hike?
→ Do your ribs flare?
→ Does one side feel significantly less stable?

Bilateral lifts can hide compensation. Unilateral carries expose it. Train what it reveals!

If one side feels easier, more stable, or stronger… that information matters.

Symmetry isn’t perfection — but big differences can increase injury risk. When we watch this movement we’re looking for:
✔️ Pelvic control (no hip drop/rotation)
✔️ Knee alignment
✔️ Balance symmetry side to side
✔️ Hamstring + glute loading
✔️ Trunk control
