Today marks 5 years since Woodstar Counselling first began!

What started as a solo practice has grown into a team of 10 dedicated professionals, each bringing unique expertise to support not just mental health, but overall well-being. From individual and family therapy to couples counselling, and even nutrition care, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside countless people on their journey to healing and growth.

We are incredibly grateful for this community and for every person who has trusted us along the way.

Please join me in welcoming Kristy Pateman Buconjic to the Woodstar Counselling team! 🥳

Kristy is a Registered Occupational Therapist who was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, but has spent most of the last 22 years working across the border in acute care, long term care, behavioural health, outpatient, and home healthcare. She has a wealth of experience supporting adults and older adults with complex medical needs as well as their caregivers, and students learning to be occupational therapists themselves.

Kristy has more recently been expanding her skills to include psychotherapy and is looking forward to supporting clients with a range of mental health and relationship issues, as well as general work and life stress. As a wife and mom herself, she understands the difficulty of juggling it all!

When not working, Kristy enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband at their camp (or cottage if you’re not from Northern Ontario) and in the outdoors- hiking, walking, and snowshoeing. She also enjoys cooking, but spends a lot of time at her daughter’s dance studio living the dance mom life!

➡️ If you are interested in working with Kristy, she will begin seeing clients both online and in-person at our downtown Sault Ste. Marie office starting September 4th. Please visit our website (link in bio) and click on “book an appointment”, then create an account and select Kristy as your preferred therapist. We will then send you a couple of online intake forms via email and follow up once booking is available. Please reach out if you have any questions!
