WE’RE BACK 🎙️🤍

After a little pause since November… The Balance with Britt Podcast is officially back with a conversation that feels SO aligned for this season of life.

Between a busy practice, a full booch season… and growing a BABY (yes, baby #2 🥹)… things slowed down for the podcast. First trimester fatigue hit hard, and I really had to honour what my body needed.

But I’m now in my second trimester, feeling so much better, and I couldn’t think of a better episode to come back with.

This week’s episode is with Hormone & Autoimmunity Nutritionist Amy from , and we are diving into:

✨ being labeled a “medical mystery” and finally getting answers
✨ how to advocate for yourself in your health journey
✨ why your symptoms are communication, not a failure
✨ using food as medicine (without restriction)
✨ nervous system support + chronic illness

If you’ve ever felt dismissed, overwhelmed, or like you’ve “tried everything”… this episode is for you.

This is your reminder that your body isn’t broken 🤍

we’ve been keeping a little secret 🤍

growing our family in the most magical, humbling, life-changing way… baby coming in Sept!! ✨

this season has already taught me so much about slowing down, letting go, and trusting my body in a whole new way. I can’t wait to share more of this journey with you.

for now, we’re just soaking it all in 🥹

You can eat all the “right” foods and still struggle with your gut.

I see this all the time with clients.

Women who are trying so hard to eat healthy, balance their meals, and take care of themselves, but still dealing with bloating, low energy, and feeling off after eating.

And it’s frustrating.

Because it feels like you’re doing everything right.

But here’s the piece that’s often missing 👇

🫶🏼 Your body has to feel safe enough to actually digest your food.

When your body is in a constant state of stress, your digestion doesn’t function the way it’s supposed to.

This isn’t just a mindset thing, it’s how your nervous system and gut are connected.

Which means:
- you’re not breaking down food as well
- you’re not absorbing nutrients properly
- your gut symptoms stick around

This is why gut health isn’t just about food.

It’s about how your body is functioning as a whole.

This is exactly what I focus on inside my program, because real, lasting changes don’t come from doing more!

They come from supporting your body in a way that actually works for your life 🤍

If this sounds like you, you’re not alone, and you’re definitely not doing anything wrong.

Real talk… investing in your health can feel scary.

I know how easy it is to second guess yourself, wonder if it’ll actually work, or think “what if this is just another thing that doesn’t help?”

But what I want you to see in these messages is this 👆🏼
Real women. Real results. Real life change.

Not perfection. Not restriction. Not starting over every Monday.

Just learning how to support your body in a way that actually fits your life.

That’s always been my goal. To make nutrition feel simple, supportive, and sustainable. Like something you can actually stick with.

And to be in your corner every step of the way 🤍

If you’ve been thinking about taking that next step, this is your sign.

I’ve got you.

this is your reminder that the meals that don’t look perfect… are often the ones doing the most for you 🤍

because let’s be real for a second
if you’re a busy, low-energy mom, you’re not plating restaurant-style dinners every night

you’re throwing something together between nap time, snacks, and answering “mommmm” for the 47th time 😅

and this right here? this is exactly what i love to see:

✔️ quick to throw together
✔️ packed with flavour
✔️ a solid protein source
✔️ lots of colourful veggies
✔️ actually satisfying

no perfection. no pressure. just nourishment.

and if you ever feel stuck, here’s how to build a simple, “messy” meal that still checks all the boxes:

start with a protein → tofu, eggs, chicken, beans, leftovers
add whatever veggies you have → fresh, frozen, pre-cut… it all counts
use shortcuts → pre-cooked rice, noodles, bagged mixes, sauces
pick one flavour → keep it simple so you’ll actually repeat it
keep it to one pan or one bowl → less cleanup = more consistency

that’s it. nothing fancy.

these are the meals that support your energy
these are the meals that keep your blood sugar stable
these are the meals that actually fit into your life

because the goal isn’t aesthetic plates
it’s feeling good in your body (even on the busiest days!!)

so if your meals look a little messy lately
you’re probably doing it right 💛

Today I’m celebrating International Women’s Day and feeling incredibly grateful for the women in my life.

From friends, to family, to clients, to fellow entrepreneurs… I am surrounded by some of the most inspiring, resilient, and supportive women.

Women who show up for their families (and KICKING BUTT)
Women who chase their dreams.
Women who lift each other up instead of competing.
Women who are doing the best they can every single day.

Getting to know and work alongside so many amazing women is truly one of the greatest gifts of what I do.

Today is a reminder to celebrate the strength, kindness, and impact of the women around us.

And if no one has told you today… you’re doing an incredible job. 🤍

Happy International Women’s Day.

“just stress less” is one of the most frustrating pieces of advice you can give someone who’s overwhelmed.

because stress isn’t just happening in your mind. it’s happening in your nervous system, your blood sugar, your hormones, and your daily routines.

when your body is constantly in a stress response, it’s a lot harder to feel calm, focused, or energized.

that’s why supporting your body matters just as much as managing your mindset.

simple things like:
• eating enough protein in the morning
• not skipping meals
• getting magnesium-rich foods
• prioritizing consistent sleep
• building small moments of nervous system support into your day

can make a huge difference in how resilient your body feels to stress.

this is the kind of practical, science-meets-real-life approach i focus on with my clients. not perfection. just small shifts that help your body feel supported.

which one of these do you already do… or which one could you start this week? 👇

Becoming a mom changed how I look at health.

I care a lot less about being perfect.
And a lot more about being regulated.

I care less about:
• rigid food rules
• cutting carbs
• chasing quick fixes
• trying to “fix” my body

And more about:
• stable blood sugar
• balanced meals with protein, fibre, carbs, and fats
• supporting digestion instead of stressing it
• getting outside daily
• nervous system regulation
• eating enough

Here’s why this matters.

When blood sugar swings all day from skipping meals or eating mostly carbs, cortisol rises to compensate. That stress response impacts digestion, hormones, energy, cravings, and even sleep.

You can’t heal your gut or balance your hormones if your body feels constantly stressed.

Regulation is the foundation.

That looks like:
• protein at breakfast
• balanced plates
• consistent meals
• light exposure in the morning
• simple stress support

It is not extreme.
It is not trendy.
But it works.

This is exactly what I teach inside the Glowing Gut Protocol. We focus on building foundations first so your digestion, energy, and stress response can actually improve in a sustainable way.

If you are in a season where life feels full, start with the basics. Your body does not need punishment. It needs support.

If you feel overwhelmed by “what should I eat?” this is your reset.

Instead of cutting carbs or starting over on Monday, build your plate like this:

🥦 Fill half your plate with non-starchy colourful veggies
Think: leafy greens, broccoli, zucchini, bell peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, asparagus, green beans, cabbage, carrots.

🍳 Add 20–30g of protein
Examples: 3–4 eggs, ¾–1 cup greek yogurt, 3–4 oz chicken or turkey, salmon, 1 cup cottage cheese, tofu, lentils + h**p seeds.

🍚 Add ¼ plate of starchy whole-food carbs
Think: quinoa, brown or white rice, roasted potatoes, sweet potato, oats, beans, squash.

🥑 Top with healthy fats
Examples: olive oil, avocado, tahini, nuts, seeds, pesto.

Here’s why this works:

Balanced plates help stabilize blood sugar. When blood sugar is stable, cortisol is more regulated, your nervous system feels safer, and digestion works better.

That means:
• fewer cravings
• more stable energy
• less 3pm crashes
• better mood
• improved digestion
• less nighttime snacking

You don’t need a detox.
You don’t need to eliminate everything.
You need meals that support your hormones and nervous system consistently.

Try this at dinner tonight and notice how you feel.

Save this for the week.

Obsessed with a good reset moment ✨

If you’re building your self-care starter pack, here’s what I’d actually focus on:

🍵 swapping coffee for matcha for smoother energy and less cortisol chaos
🥤 a protein-rich, antioxidant-packed smoothie to keep blood sugar steady and cravings in check
📓 journalling to clear the mental clutter instead of carrying it all day
🥗 balanced meals with protein, fibre + healthy fats so you’re not running on fumes
😴 a solid sleep routine because nothing replaces real rest

No extremes. No overhauls. Just small, science-meets-real-life habits that actually move the needle.

Which one are you starting with? 💛

taking a few weeks off social media to grieve my grandma, be with family, continue supporting my 1:1 clients, and tend to my nervous system.

this season has been a reminder that presence matters more than productivity.
