🧡 Today we pause to honor Truth and Reconciliation Day.
We remember the children who never came home, the survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities forever impacted.

This is a day to reflect, to listen, and to commit ourselves to ongoing learning, understanding, and meaningful action. Together, we walk the path toward healing and reconciliation.

☀️ Midweek Mindfulness — Ground & Glow this Wednesday 🌿

Wednesdays can feel heavy — like we’re stuck between the start and the finish line. Take a moment today to slow down, tune in, and reconnect.

Mindful Summer Grounding Tip:

🌸 Barefoot Pause: Step outside. Let your feet touch the warm earth, grass, or sand. Close your eyes. Take 3 deep breaths.
Feel the textures, the temperature, the weight of your body being supported. You are here. You are held. You are home.

Try This:
☀️ Sip your iced tea or lemon water mindfully
🪻 Notice the colour of the sky
🍃 Run your hands through lavender or basil if nearby — inhale deeply

Midweek doesn’t need to mean burnout. Let it mean balance.

✨ “Even the sun pauses at noon.” ✨

🌧️ Monday Morning Vibes 🌧️ as it’s rainy here today in Drayton Valley
For the slow, rainy kind of day…

Not every Monday needs a hustle. Some are made for slower starts, cozy cups of tea, and gentle healing.
Here are 3 soul-soothing ways to start your week with intention:

🫖 Sip & Settle — Wrap your hands around a warm mug. Breathe in the steam. Exhale the weight of expectations.

🌿 Rain Listening — Sit by the window and tune in. Let the rain be your meditation. No fixing, just feeling.

📖 Pocket-Sized Journaling — Write down one thing you’re carrying and one thing you’re ready to release.
Let the page hold it for you, just for today.

Let today be a soft landing, not a sprint. Healing happens in the stillness too.

🌿 “Tune-In Thursday” – Ground to Grow 🌿
Let’s be real — healing isn’t linear, and sometimes your nervous system just needs a little help to feel safe again. Today isn’t about basic grounding — it’s about tuning in to your inner and outer world in a way that actually sticks.

✨ Here are 3 lesser-known grounding techniques to try today:

🌾 Nature Name Game
Go outside (or look out your window). Name the first thing you see that starts with the same letter as your name. Then try the next letter in your name. It’s playful, silly, and gives your brain a focus while anchoring you in the here and now.

🧊 Temperature Shift
Hold something very cold (ice cube, frozen spoon, etc.) or run your wrists under cold water. Say aloud:
“I am here. I can feel this. I am safe now.”
Temperature shocks the nervous system gently and brings awareness to the body fast.

🎨 Texture Trail
Choose 5 different textures around you — touch each one slowly. As you do, describe them to yourself out loud or in writing: “This sweater feels warm and fuzzy, like a soft cloud.”
It helps the brain connect language with physical presence — grounding both the body and the mind.

💬 How are you tuning in today? Drop your favorite grounding trick or just tell us which one you tried. Healing starts with tiny moments of connection. 🌱

Good morning. We wanted to share this post as a gentle reminder to put yourself first. Have a wonderful Wednesday

🌿 Mindful Moment Wednesday ☀️

Take a break today and reconnect with right now.

🌼 Grounding Technique: Barefoot Pause
Step outside—grass, sand, or sun-warmed stone—and feel the ground beneath your feet.
Close your eyes. Breathe in the summer air.
🌬️ Inhale deeply for 4…
🌊 Hold for 4…
🍃 Exhale slowly for 6…

Feel the textures, the warmth, the breeze on your skin.
Let your body and mind rest in the here and now.

✨ You don’t need a mountain retreat—sometimes all it takes is a moment of stillness in your backyard, park, or balcony.

🌿 Weekend Grounding Moment 🌿
Take 60 seconds just for you — right here, right now.

Try this simple grounding check-in:
💚 5 – See: Look around and name 5 things you can see.
💙 4 – Feel: Notice 4 things you can physically feel (your feet on the ground, the breeze, etc.).
💛 3 – Hear: Listen and name 3 sounds you hear.
🧡 2 – Smell: Breathe in and name 2 scents around you (or recall a favorite scent).
❤️ 1 – Breathe: Take 1 deep, slow breath and simply be.

✨ That’s it. You’re back in the present.
Let the sunshine anchor you. Let your breath soften you. You’re safe. You’re enough.

✨ We’re feeling so honoured! ✨

We’re so excited to have been featured in the paper last week! 📰✨
Our article focused on supporting graduates with their mental health as they step into this new chapter of life. 🎓💬

Graduation is a time of celebration — but it can also bring up stress, uncertainty, and big emotions. In the piece, we shared ways grads (and their families) can stay grounded and supported during this major transition.

A big thank you to the Drayton Valley Free Press for highlighting this important conversation. Let’s continue to cheer on our grads — not just for what they’ve accomplished, but for how they care for themselves moving forward. 💛

🇨🇦 Canada Day Mindfulness 🇨🇦
Today, as we celebrate the beauty, diversity, and spirit of this land, take a moment to ground yourself in what truly matters.

🍁 Remember what you’re grateful for in this moment

Canada Day can be both joyful and complex. However you choose to spend today, may you feel connected—to yourself, to the land, and to those who bring you peace.

🪶 National Indigenous Peoples Day | Honouring Treaty 6 and Beyond 🪶

Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we honour the sacred traditions, deep resilience, and living cultures of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples across Turtle Island.

Source of Strength Healing is located on Treaty 6 Territory, the traditional lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Dene, and Métis Nation of Alberta – Region 4. We respectfully acknowledge the ancestors and knowledge-keepers who have walked these lands for generations — and who continue to lead the way in healing and cultural resurgence.

As a counselling and healing space, we recognize that the impacts of colonization, residential schools, and systemic displacement continue to affect Indigenous individuals, families, and communities today. We hold space for both the deep grief and the powerful reclamation unfolding across Nations.

We commit to practicing in a way that is trauma-informed, heart-led, and grounded in respect. Our work is shaped by the Treaties of Alberta, the Northwest Territories, and British Columbia — not as historical documents, but as living agreements rooted in relationship, responsibility, and reciprocity.

To the Indigenous Peoples of these lands:
🌿 We see you.
🌿 We honour your truths.
🌿 We are grateful for your teachings, your languages, your ceremonies, and your strength.

May today be one of reverence, remembrance, and renewed commitment to walking forward in good ways.

☔ Rainy Summer Days & Self-Care Rituals 🌧️

With all of the rain in the forecast, here is a gentle reminder that just because the sun is hiding doesn’t mean your glow has to.

Rainy days in the summer are a gentle invitation to slow down and tend to your inner world. Instead of resisting the weather, lean into it. Let the soft rhythm of the rain remind you that it’s okay to pause, reset, and nourish yourself.

✨ Here are a few cozy self-care ideas for rainy summer days:
🌿 Brew your favorite tea and journal by candlelight
🧘‍♀️ Practice slow, mindful movement or gentle stretching
🎧 Create a rainy day playlist and let the music soothe your spirit
📖 Curl up with a book or revisit a comfort movie
💭 Try a 10-minute meditation to reconnect with your breath

Let the rain be your reminder: growth still happens in the quiet.
