The OAO had the pleasure of hosting the OIA for their annual conference last week and it did not disappoint. Many new connections were made, and also renewed a few old ones!

Happy to be nominated for the Health and Wellness category again this year!

I snuck away from the clinic!

The OAO Board completed a strategic planning meeting in November, where we reviewed the Member’s Needs Assessment feedback and considered our strategic outlook for the next few years. We look forward to sharing details on our strategic direction soon and to continuing to build on our growth!

Thank you again for the nomination. 😊

I was in Toronto fulfilling my board duties for our annual members meeting for the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners, and then had the pleasure to attend the course I’d been planning for the last few months. I went out on a limb to bring Richard to Canada and he didn’t disappoint. The more experience I gain in this profession, the more I want to go back to its roots. And I think many of my classmates this weekend can agree - the this weekend started to fill the holes or questions we had about what makes Osteopathy so special.

This is a bit delayed, but I would like to thank those who nominated me for the Dryden District Chamber of Commerce Awards, under the Health and Wellness Category. Congratulations to The Community Table for their much deserved win.

I was unable to attend the banquet as I was in Winnipeg learning more Osteopathic skills!! I had an amazing weekend with some of my old classmates, and also met some new colleagues in the Osteopathic World. It felt so great to be back in the classroom learning, in-person!

Thank you to MAOMT for a great weekend! Looking forward to rounds 2/3 next year!

Train with less pain!

Higher quality warm ups

The Super Strong 12 Week Training Program has the best warm ups.

The warm ups are much more than what you would get from just going on a treadmill before you lift.

We can do better than just increasing core temperature.

With a good warm up we can increase core temperature PLUS....
- Improve range of motion
- Reduce risk of injury
- Activate inhibited muscles
- Downregulate overactive muscles
- Practice movement patterns of exercises that will be performed during the training session to reduce energy leaks.
- Fire up the central nervous system so you are ready to go when it is time!

It's International Osteopathic Healthcare week and I'm a little behind! It's Day 3 and I found today's photo quite fitting as today I have two tiny humans in the office for their very first Osteopathy Treatments! I also had a first timer yesterday, and a seasoned Osteo treatment baby tomorrow!

During my training, my classmates probably thought I would never treat babies... and now over the last year I don't think I've ever had less than 3 at a time. Just when I get one discharged, I get another phone call or referral. I have been making room for babies in my practice because often the issues can be quickly resolved, and potentially prevent other problems as they grow and develop. Plus treatment often is helping more than just the baby - the whole family benefits! Happy baby - happy family.

Reasons to bring your baby to see an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner are endless - even if it's just for a check up after delivery - but often it includes, but not limited to, issues like reflux, colic, gas, bloating, feeding trouble, torticollis, and plagiocephaly.

Masks WILL STILL BE REQUIRED at Lyle Osteopathy inspite of today's annoucement of the mask mandates being lifted on March 21st. If you forget to bring a 2 layer mask, a surgical mask will be provided to you to wear.

Rates of covid-19 are still high in our region, so I encourage everyone to remain diligent with hand washing, social distancing, and continueing to wear a mask (if that is something that makes you feel more comfortable in public settings).
