After more than 10 years of service, we completed our final day in Sioux Lookout on April 30, 2026. As we packed everything up, we took time to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished together over the past decade.

We were honoured to provide thousands of eye exams to patients of all ages from Sioux Lookout, Hudson, Lac Seul, and communities across the Far North. We delivered more than 500 clinic days without ever cancelling a single one due to weather or highway closures .. even when it meant taking the back roads to get there!

We are deeply grateful to our amazing support staff. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment made this satellite office possible, and we could not have done it without them.

Our goal has always been to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients and their families. Thank you for your trust, support, and loyalty throughout the years. It has truly been a privilege to be part of your care.

While this chapter in Sioux Lookout has come to a close, our story is far from over. We look forward to continuing to serve you at our Dryden office for many years to come.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! ❤️

“20/20” refers to normal visual acuity, meaning you can see at 20 feet what a person with normal eyesight should see at 20 feet.

If you have "20/60" vision, it means you must be at 20 feet to see what someone with normal vision can see clearly from 60 feet away, so your vision is worse than normal.

It’s important to remember that 20/20 vision only refers to clarity. It does not account for other essential aspects of sight, such as peripheral vision or depth perception. Furthermore, eye health 👁️ is so much more than 20/20! Many people make the assumption that if they can see clearly, they have nothing to worry about. ⚠️ Serious eye conditions, such as cataracts, glaucoma and/or diabetic retinopathy, can be present without noticeable symptoms and these individuals may still be able to see "20/20". Regular, comprehensive eye exams are the best way to maintain good eye health. Overdue? 📞 Give us a call at (807) 221-2020 to book your appointment

Struggling with bright headlights at night? ✨🚗🌙 You’re not alone. We hear this concern everyday! Increased glare can be caused by several factors, including changes in your prescription, scratched glasses, lack of anti-reflective coating, dry eyes or cataracts. In some cases, newer vehicle headlight technology, although intended to enhance driver visibility, can also make it more difficult for other road users to see comfortably. As part of their public consultation, Transport Canada is asking for the public's experiences, opinions, and behaviours with vehicle headlight glare. The survey is open to anyone residing in Canada over the age of 16 until April 20, 2026.

Transport Canada wants to learn how headlight glare affects road users and what vehicle or lighting features may influence how people experience it at night.
