Originally from Uxbridge, Ontario, Tim is a 4th-year optometry student at the University of Waterloo and will be seeing patients here this fall, under the supervision of Dr. Brian Lockyer and Dr. Suzanne Lockyer.

Tim earned his undergraduate degree in Life Sciences and his master’s degree in Biophysics from the Ontario Tech University in Oshawa, Ontario. He enjoys hiking, biking, and exploring the great outdoors. Be sure to say hi 👋 when you see him!

It’s Koko’s last day of rotation! Koko spent her summer in our Dryden and Sioux Lookout offices as a 4th-year University of Waterloo optometry student seeing patients alongside Dr. Brian Lockyer and Dr. Suzanne Lockyer. When she wasn’t in clinic, she certainly made the most of her time by trail running at Ghost Lake, kayaking and camping on Wabigoon Lake, and rock climbing near Vermilion Bay. We thank her for her enthusiasm, dedication and hard work and wish her all the best and continued success at her next rotations in Waterloo, Ontario and Smithers, British Columbia.

🎉 BIG MILESTONE ALERT! 🎉

Dr. Suzanne Lockyer is celebrating 10 YEARS IN PRACTICE! 🥳

From eye exams and emergency visits to picking the perfect pair of glasses, from newborns to centenarians, in Dryden and in Sioux Lookout, it’s been an amazing decade of expert care, laughs, and lots of “which is better, 1 or 2?” 😅

Children may not know they have a vision problem. 1️⃣ child out of 4️⃣ has a significant eye problem that can interfere with learning and development. Did you know that annual comprehensive eye exams are covered for kids under 20 years of age by OHIP?

The Ontario Association of Optometrists "Eye See ... As an Optometric Assistant, you will support our day-to-day operations by aiding with patient care, scheduling, billing, pre-testing, and eyewear selection. This dynamic, detail-oriented role blends administrative, technical, and customer service responsibilities, requiring an eagerness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. While no prior optical experience is required, as training will be provided, experience in office administration, business, or customer service is a strong asset.

Children born in 2021 will be eligible for a FREE pair of glasses, should they need it, starting July 1, 2025. 🤓
