Are You Ready for Some Football?🏈
The 15th season of Dryden Minor Football is kicking off after the May long weekend with a FREE spring camp for local youth interested in trying the sport. The official 2026 season will begin at the start of the 2026/2027 school year.
Dryden Minor Football is a volunteer-driven, community-based organization that provides youth in the area with the opportunity to learn and play tackle football. Established in 2011, the program is open to youth who are still attending elementary school and were born in 2014 or earlier, regardless of athletic ability or previous experience.
The program focuses not only on learning football skills, but also on sportsmanship, teamwork, and community spirit. At the end of every practice and scrimmage, players gather for the Dryden Falcons Football Team chant: “Hard work, teamwork. All day, every day. I will. I can. I promise.” Coaches emphasize that the chant is more than words. Through effort, discipline, and support for their teammates, players are encouraged to demonstrate their meaning through action.
During the fall season, the Dryden Falcons take the skills they develop in practice onto the field in weekend scrimmages against the Kenora Broncos Jr. Football Team. This year will also bring an exciting new opportunity. For the first time, players will be invited to participate in a Friday Night Lights scrimmage at Princess Auto Stadium – the home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. This special event offers young athletes the rare chance to play in a professional-level stadium, under the lights with live commentary.
To keep the program accessible to all youth, most of the equipment needed to participate is provided. Players, parents, and volunteer coaches work together throughout the year to support fundraising efforts. Dryden Minor Football also relies on the generous support of local organizations and extends gratitude to community partners like Domino’s Pizza and the Royal Canadian Legion Dryden Branch #63 whose contributions help make the program possible. All funds raised or donated go directly toward purchasing and maintaining safe equipment, including helmets, padding, uniforms and training gear.

✅ Be born in 2014 or earlier
✅ Be returning to elementary school in the fall
