In September 2025, the Slhexun Sun'ts'a' Clinic Primary Care team was honoured at a special ceremony celebrating clinics and care providers from across the region.
Hosted by Our Cowichan Communities Health Network and the Collaborative Services Committee, the Honouring Ceremony for Primary Care Clinics recognized the vital contributions of Family Physicians and Nurse Practitioners in our communities.
Our team was acknowledged for their compassionate, culturally grounded care and commitment to community wellness. As part of the ceremony, honourees were gifted a framed print, a hand-carved paddle adorned with cedar, and devil’s club - powerful symbols of healing, strength, and respect.
Elder Merle Seymour opened the gathering with song and drumming, honouring all those who continue to walk alongside community in the spirit of care.
We raise our hands to the Slhexun Sun’ts’a Primary Care team. Huy tseep q’u for showing up every day with heart, dedication, and love. 🤲❤️
