My other self-introduction was brief and is way down at the bottom of all of this page’s posts, so I’m writing a new one. My name is Karlin. I am a nature-loving Spiritualist medium, based in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. I offer one-hour combination readings, starting with mediumship & summing up with cards. Alternatively, I offer spiritual dialogue sessions or animal communication. (I work remotely with the animals and then pass on the messages to their people during a session.) My intention for each of these services is to open space for beautiful energy to flow into any areas of life that need extra attention or support. I have spaces available in August. Maybe it’s because I am emerging from a time of grief, but this summer has been particularly beautiful. The way the flowers catch the light, the sound of tree branches rustling in a gentle breeze, even the intermittent sounds of saws and hammering - they all have a musical quality to them. That we can rebuild after a loss seems unthinkable at first, but it does happen, in its own time, depending on our own natural healing rhythm. I am through the numbness, so there are moments when sadness pops up like a jack-in-the-box, but my tears move it out into the garden where it adds sparkle to the life all around and within me. I do the work of mediumship because it can help people to engage with their lives after hardship. They may start to notice the many ways they are being supported along their journeys. Adding curiosity and wonder to our lives doesn’t magically take away grief or struggle but it does add light and space, so that there is possibility for creativity, movement, and release.

Thank you to everyone who has come for a reading this spring as I am stepping into new energy and not keeping very up-to-date on my posts here. There is a happy sprawl to everything in the garden and I am embracing the beauty of the season. We will be doing some renovations at different points throughout the summer so I will book readings around the quiet times. Let me know if you would like to come for a one hour mediumship/card reading in May or June. For people who like to explore things more conversationally, I also offer spiritual dialogue. It can give perspective to supernatural experiences you’ve had or situations you are currently working through. Our dialogue may or may not include mediumship and a card or two. Happy Spring Equinox! The strawberry rhubarb is unfolding in the garden. Consider taking time outside this season to observe the creative ways that leaves emerge and relax into their true form. Nature is always sharing its wisdom and with practice we get better at receiving it.

Thank you to everyone who has come in for a reading now that I'm working again. Connecting people with their loved ones is a joyful occupation. It is magical for me every time spirits show up and give evidence of their life after death. I am honoured to witness the healing that knowing they have connected brings to people. My father-in-law passed into Spirit last week too. So many changes all at once. There is a new shape to the world without our dads in it. Whatever situations you are facing right now, please be gentle with yourselves and take some time to be in nature. Yesterday I took myself outside to water the garden and connect with the present moment. A hummingbird flew over and hovered near the hose sprayer, asking me to share. I clicked the nozzle to "mist" and aimed it high, so she sat up on the grape arbor and took a delightful little shower. Though I am still feeling numb a lot of the time, when emotions break through they are very strong. The joy from the hummingbird was a real gift. I am grateful for the abiding beauty of the natural world that carries us through our transition times.

My Dad passed peacefully into Spirit last week. There is still much to process before I am ready to open the doors for readings again. May you all have a beautiful summer.
