Yesterday afternoon Optima Hamlets of Duncan recreation team celebrated Therapeutic Recreation (TR) month by doing some therapeutic recreation of our own. We followed Artful Enrichment’s prerecorded West Coast Forest paint tutorial, enjoyed some snacks, and had a discussion about holding close to our “why” we choose this work. We talked about burnout and why TR is important for the individuals in our communities. Our painting experience highlighted the beauty in the differences of perspectives between us and allowed some time to flow together.
