Examinations & consultations - Every pet should have an examination with their veterinarian at least once a year. Older pets should be seen twice yearly. The reason for the visit is not only to discuss with you how things are going but to ensure that your pet is healthy and happy. Any possible health concerns whether it be medical, behavourial or food related can be addressed and Dr.Marsales can r

eccomend ideas and or treatments that may be of some help. Don't be shy...ask all the questions that you want! Immunizations - Vaccinations (shots) are given to help protect your pet from contagious diseases and viruses. In order to vaccinate your pet , Dr.Marsales examines your pet to be sure they they are healthy enough to recieve a vaccine. We have changed our vaccine protocol to match the one that AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) has suggested. Over the age of three should receive less vaccines every year and that core vaccines can be on a 3 (three) year rotation. In other words, your pet for the first three years will receive all core vaccines and Rabies, then after that they will receive one vaccine that alternates every three years! Example, 1st year would be Rabies, 2nd year would be Distemper and then the 3rd year would be either Parvo ( dogs) and Leukemia (cats). Then the next year it starts all over again. Bordetella , Lyme and Lepto vaccines are still yearly and done upon request or by your pets lifestyle. It will cost less to prevent an infection than to treat one! Dentals - This one is a favorite for Dr.Marsales! Dental care is one of the most important things that you can do for your pet. A dental prophy (cleaning) can be done daily , your pet is under a general anesthetic while they are having them cleaned. Your pets teeth are then cleaned and scaled of tartar, checked for any possible pockets or problems and then polished with flouride. We also have a fantastic dental x-ray machine that sends the pictures to a laptop so that Dr.Marsales can ensure that your pets teeth are in the best of condition without any guessing. Animals usually don't open thier mouths to willingly to have thier teeth cleaned ! Surgical Procedures - Dr.Marsales does elective and routine surgeries daily. Every pet is weighed and medication is drawn specifically for your pet. Isoflourane is used as an anesthetic to maintain your pet while their having thier procedure. Owners are called immediately after the procedure to let them know how their pet is doing. Our declaws are preformed alittle differently than most, if your nterested how...
please call and let us explain it to you! Dr.Kim Murphy is an orthopedic surgeron who comes to our clinic for those " hips and knee" surgical patients. This allows you to have a specialist preform the procedure in the comfort of the clinic that you are familiar with. It is a priority that your pet is comfortable, warm and without pain. In addition, we have an on site pharmacy so that we can dispense medication for your pet before they leave their appointment. Our cats and dogs are in separate rooms, so not to stress to our feline friends. We carry Hill's Prescription Diets and Medical Royal Canin diets. However, if we do not have the diet that you need we can order it for you! We also have grooming in our clinic , just give Wendy a call and she makes the appointment to meet you here with your pet.
