- Health811 allows people living in Ontario to call or chat online with a registered nurse and find the health care services and information they need all in one, easy-to-use website. This will help people living in Ontario avoid unnecessary visits to emergency departments and delays in accessing care.
- Health811 can be accessed by calling 811 or visiting Health811โs website to chat online or browse its online resources at health811.ontario.ca (or health811.ontario.ca/static/fr-ca).
- By calling 811, you can speak to a qualified health professional, such as a registered nurse, day or night, in English and French, with translation support also offered in other languages. The phone service is available in 232 languages, including Indigenous languages such as Cree, Oji-Cree, Ojibwe and Inuktitut.
- Health811 is for non-urgent health care information, advice and referrals. Personal health information, shared with Health811, is secure and always protected. This service does not replace 911, which should still be used for a medical emergency.
