Past & Present - War Memorial Hospital open in 1919 seen here on the corner of John St & Lock St. Originally Judge W.W. Swayze home. It was dismantled in 1950 to make way for the new hospital.

In response to rising respiratory illness cases in our area, masking is now required for all staff during patient interactions.

If you are visiting our emergency department with respiratory symptoms, please wear a mask.

For visitors - Masks are available at all entrances if you wish to wear a mask while you are at the hospital. We encourage everyone visiting our inpatients to wear a mask.

Do not visit if you are unwell.

And please don't forget to use the hand sanitizer when you arrive, frequently while you are here, and before you exit the hospital.

- Health811 allows people living in Ontario to call or chat online with a registered nurse and find the health care services and information they need all in one, easy-to-use website. This will help people living in Ontario avoid unnecessary visits to emergency departments and delays in accessing care.

- Health811 can be accessed by calling 811 or visiting Health811’s website to chat online or browse its online resources at health811.ontario.ca (or health811.ontario.ca/static/fr-ca).

- By calling 811, you can speak to a qualified health professional, such as a registered nurse, day or night, in English and French, with translation support also offered in other languages. The phone service is available in 232 languages, including Indigenous languages such as Cree, Oji-Cree, Ojibwe and Inuktitut.

- Health811 is for non-urgent health care information, advice and referrals. Personal health information, shared with Health811, is secure and always protected. This service does not replace 911, which should still be used for a medical emergency.
