Physical Therapy services for Kids in the Okanagan: Kelowna, Lake Country, Peachland, and Vernon.

Okanagan Kids Physiotherapy is a private physical therapy practice dedicated to the treatment of children and youth ages 0-16yrs. Treatment is provided in my home based clinic, at the child's home, or at one of our local swimming pools. Areas of interest include: orthopedic injuries, sports injuries, torticollis and plagiocephaly and various developmental conditions including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, arthrogryposis, down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, developmental coordination disorder, and other congenital disorders and/or syndromes. Developmental screening assessments are also available for kids who have any questionable concerns.

I am so excited to announce that OKPT is rebranding as we bring SMILE Therapy for Kids to Kelowna under the guidance of Jo-Anne Weltman, founder of SMILE Therapy for Kids and co-founder of DMI therapy. 🌟 Intervention Spotlight 🌟

One of the therapeutic interventions we use here at Okanagan Kids Physio is DMI!

What is DMI you say? Glad you asked!

🌈 Dynamic Movement Intervention 🌈, or DMI, is a therapeutic technique used in PT and OT to treat children with motor delay by improving automatic postural responses and promoting progress towards developmental milestones.

Our physio, Liza, is trained in DMI and is excited to offer it at OKPT!

September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Okanagan Kids Physio acknowledges our clinic is on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded tm̓xʷúlaʔxʷ (land) of the syilx / Okanagan people. We are grateful to be able to practice and play here.

The sweatshirts we are wearing are from the Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society. They have made these beautiful shirts and have shared information about why we wear orange on this day. The second and third slides are the card they shared with us.
