What does it mean to honour your inner child?
Honouring your inner child is about treating the younger version of yourself with love, respect, and understanding. As we build self-compassion for our younger selves we can also build compassion for our adult selves.

Trauma touches all of our lives, and is a concern our therapists are deeply familiar with. We wanted to offer a piece of trauma education to our community to share some of what we know about trauma at no cost to you. This document is not a substitute or replacement for competent, evidence-based trauma support. Rather, it is intended to educate about what trauma looks like and how we can manage it and support survivors. Feel free to download, share, or ask questions. We want everyone in our community to have this knowledge about something we care so deeply about!

Sleep is such a key part of both our emotional and physical health. Unfortunately, it is one of the first areas to suffer when we experience emotional struggles, stress, or trauma. Lack of quality sleep can not only affect your health but also how you function during the day. Without a good night's sleep, it can be difficult to concentrate, learn, emotionally regulate, communicate, or even complete basic daily tasks (AKA, "adulting").

Are you looking for a therapist who specializes in ADHD assessments or a therapist who works with grief, performance management, trauma, anxiety, and depression? Then Alora may be the right fit for you! Alora's approach is centered around the therapeutic relationship; she believes that the relationship between the client and therapist is one of the most important parts of therapy. Alora's approach is tailored to you and your personal goals and needs. A unique component to Alora's approach is that she does not take notes during the therapy session. She finds that by removing note-taking, the tone becomes more conversational and a little less clinical.
What is Alora's favourite part about being a psychologist? While it may sound cliche, Alora enjoys working with people and supporting them to achieve their goals. Not only does she enjoy the helping aspect, but she also believes that she learns something new from each client she meets.

Alora works with adolescents, adults and families to achieve their therapeutic goals. Additionally, she completes ADHD assessments for children aged six and up!

Emotions can be overwhelming and processing them can be taxing on our nervous system. Occasionally when we think about what it means to sit with our emotions we associate it with getting "stuck" in the feeling or having the emotion take over our thoughts, actions, and run a rampage on our day. While sometimes we might need to get "stuck in the mud" with our emotions and allow them to have their space for a longer period of time, we can also sit with and validate our emotions while moving forward with our day. Our emotions deserve to be heard without judgement & we deserve to allow ourselves the space to hold our emotions.

Are you looking for a therapist who specializes in ethical non-monogamy, couples, and is trained in s*x therapy? Then Lyvia might be the right therapist for you! Lyvia's approach is person-centered at its core, allowing you to be the expert of YOU and what you need. Lyvia's non-judgemental approach allows for open exploration of all topics in a safe, comforting, and welcoming environment. Lyvia's goal is to create an environment which supports individuals as they explore their sense of self, including the things that may be "taboo". While Lyvia often supports individuals, she also works with couples who may be experiencing relationship related stressors and supports them to find understanding and practical solutions.

Lyvia works with couples, adults of all ages, & groups. She enjoys working with marginalized populations, couples, ethical non-monogamy, s*xuality, and gender identity.

Introducing Josh Fritz, Provisional Psychologist

Are you looking for a therapist who focuses on finding solutions and exploring the bigger question of “how” or “why”? Then Josh may just be the therapist for you! Josh has a background in genetics and his approach to therapy explores how our genetics and our environments impact how we interact with the world around us. Josh understands that all individuals want to find solutions to the problems they experience & in times of stress we often develop solutions that may work at the time, but later on no longer fit the mould that we are trying to fit them in. In Josh’s collaborative approach, he aims to work with you to rebuild and redesign your pre-existing solutions to better work with the demands of your current environment. Josh’s approach empowers all individuals to find adaptive processes that work for their needs and lives.

Josh works with teens, adults, and first responders. He enjoys working with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, burnout, post-traumatic stress disorder, identity issues, and vicarious trauma.

Do you think Josh may be a good fit for you and your needs? Click the link in our bio to book your free consultation call with him today!

Landry Psychology: A collective, a safe space. Promoting authenticity and inclusivity.

Here at Landry Psychology, we are a collective of therapists who don’t take ourselves too seriously and promote authenticity for not only ourselves but also for our clients. We are all humans and we believe that by being ourselves we create safer spaces for learning, exploration, and making mistakes. We are so grateful and honoured to have the opportunity to support you through your journey. We recognize the courage and trust required for you to be here and to be so honest, raw, and open with us. You sharing your stories with us, laughing with us, crying with us, and taking up space with us is not something take lightly. In fact, it is something that we hold with the utmost respect. We want you to feel safe, be heard, have the space, be seen and to know that we are here and ready to work alongside you.

Thank you for being here, we can't wait to meet you.

Welcome to our space! Here at Landry Psychology, we are so excited to welcome you into our space and offer you something to drink, a cozy blanket, and a (subjectively) very comfy couch to curl up on.

Our Founder, Kristi Landry, carefully curated our space to be accessible for all individuals including those with varying sensory needs who we so dearly love to work with! You can find us on the first floor of the Whitemud Business Park. Our building offers free parking, including ample accessible parking spaces located near the doors closest to our office. Within our office, we provide a gentle sensory environment by reducing our overhead lighting, providing various fidgets in each office, reducing noises, and offering individuals the ability to move around/stretch or engage in activities during their appointments. When creating this space the goal was to create a therapy environment that feels homey, safe, comfortable, and inviting for all individuals.

While in our waiting room feel free to relax on our couch or chairs, help yourself to something to drink, or peruse our available books in our little library, featuring some of our book club reads!

We hope you enjoy our space just as much as we do!

We have a new narrative therapist on our team!

Janelle’s work is unique, creative, and deeply empowering. Here is how she describes her Narrative Therapy approach:

Narrative Therapy (NT) utilizes storytelling and personal narratives to illuminate the unique ways that individuals understand and make meaning of their lives and the world around them. By exploring stories in rich detail we can re-author identities outside of the problems addressed in therapy, to better view problems as a part of people’s lives, rather than people as problems. We will draw from the personal knowledge that clients hold as the experts of their own lived experiences, while recognizing that each person possesses unique gifts, wisdoms, and convictions that will help to untangle the hold of problems from their lives, while exploring new ideas about themselves and others around them.

If this approach resonates with you, Janelle is now accepting new clients. To learn more, visit the link in our bio or contact us at [email protected] or call/text 780-708-7335.

Finding the right therapist is important for a few reasons!
✔️Therapy is expensive
✔️ Sharing our stories can be hard work (so we don’t want to start over)
✔️Your time is valuable
✔️Research shows that the relationship with your therapist is the most important factor to promote healing in therapy.

We know how tough finding the right connection can be (and many of us from first-hand experience).

We developed a quiz to help you remove the guesswork. With only 14 questions, it can be completed in under 2 minutes and you will hear back about which therapist(s) on our team would be a great fit based on your goals, personality, interests, and accessibility.

To take the quiz, visit our website www.landrypsychology.com. Link in bio.
We look forward to meeting you!

We are excited to introduce a new offering!

For those who have a specific goal in mind and aren’t interested in long term therapy or diving into history. Solution Seekers are one-time sessions with a mental health expert aimed to help you work toward a resolution for a specific problem.

We know that many problems can’t be solved instantly, so we hand selected some very specific topics to work with. Your therapist will request some additional information upon booking to prepare for your customized meeting, and we have extended the session length to 90 minutes to give more time to reach your goals. You will walk away with new knowledge, tools, and a game plan. 👏🏻

Solution seekers, contact us today to schedule your customized session, or book your session online (link in bio).

Daniella is one of our highly trained Provisional Psychologists, and she is currently accepting new clients!
She works with children, teens and adults to address anxiety, trauma, bullying, divorce, self harm and emotional dysregulation. Her skill set includes a variety of evidence-based therapies including EMDR, EFT, art therapy, play therapy, DBT, and most recently- animal assisted therapy with her sidekick, Minnie!

We asked Daniella what favourite habit or tool she regularly uses to support her mental health. She responded, “Mid-day Yoga breaks. I take 1-2 hours daily out of my work schedule to eat and do some yoga. It is a great reset both mentally and physically. I started incorporating this in the new year and it has been life changing!”

To learn more about Daniella or schedule an appointment, contact us at [email protected] or call/text (780)708-7335.

Sarah is our new student therapist (starting May 11!) and is currently in the process of finishing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. Sarah is supervised by experienced Registered Psychologist Kristi Landry and is offering discounted therapy until December.

Sarah’s passion is working with first responders, due to her own connections to the field. She also works with teens, adults and veterans to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress/burnout, PTSD, addiction, anger management and relationships.

We asked Sarah if aliens landed on earth tomorrow and offered to take her home with them if she would go. She responded, “I think I would have to go because my partner would not forgive me if I didn’t, but also I could return with superpowers or some really cool space knickknack.”

To learn more about Sarah or schedule an appointment, reach out to us at [email protected] or call/text 780-708-7335.

Josh is our student therapist and is currently in the process of finishing his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. Josh is supervised by experienced Registered Psychologist
Rebecca Ings and is offering discounted therapy until August.

Josh works with teens and adults, though he has a special interest in working with first responders. Anxiety, depression, trauma, stress/burnout, PTSD and identity issues are his jam.

We asked Josh who his favourite Disney hero/ heroine is and if he would trade places with them. His answer: “Milo Thatch from the movie Atlantis: the Lost Empire. I love that he starts off as a nerdy, intelligent professor-type person who has to learn to embrace those qualities that others look down on him for. By the end of the film he has found his strengths in those qualities and is able to help those around him by thinking things through, and not relying on his (non-existent) muscles to save the day.”

To learn more about Josh or schedule an appointment, reach out to us at [email protected] or call/text 780-708-7335.

It’s time to re-introduce ourselves!

First up- Alora.
Registered Provisional Psychologist specializing in trauma, depression, anxiety, burnout, goal setting, relationships, and neuropsychological ADHD assessments.

Alora’s clients describe her as incredibly warm, nonjudgmental, and that they feel safe in her presence.

We asked Alora what fictional world or place she would like to visit and she responded, “HOGWARTS! Don’t even have to think about this question.” (She’s Gryffindor, by the way).
