Can a glucose sensor improve your blood sugar?
A continuous glucose monitor is a sensor the size of two stacked quarters worn on the arm for 14 days. This sensor lets you measure your blood sugars with a swipe of your phone. We are interested in whether wearing these monitors can help get your blood sugars down to healthy targets.
In this research trial, half of the participants, randomly selected, will be provided with three FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors. All patients will get virtual visits with a diabetes educator to help improve their diabetes.
You may be eligible if you ..... have type 2 diabetes... have HbA1c (a measure of blood sugar control) higher than 7.0%... are not using insulin.
Participation involves two in-person study visits, each an hour long, and blood work. Compensation is provided for time and inconvenience.
This study is performed by researchers at the University of Alberta (Ethics ). Please see the poster to request more information about this research opportunity!
