I love Halloween. I can honestly say I love Halloween over Christmas. But that’s besides the point I’m trying to make. If you love Halloween, and love the level of effort put into decorating, then I highly recommend checking out a house on 149st(northbound) between 95-97ave. The display is large and fun!
I’d put up a picture but that would spoil it for you.

Did you that ladybugs are actually beetles?
Ladybugs don’t mind winter, they hibernate like the rest of us wish we could (darn bills and taxes!)
Ladybugs can eat 50 aphids a day! That’s a lot of greens. Aphids are usually green right?
When you get scared, do you release a stink to keep others away? Well ladybugs release a checmical that reeks to keep predators away.
Ladybugs can live around 2-3 years.

Have you ever heard of lice squad? I just came across their business randomly as I plunged down the job listing rabbit hole. I wonder what the turnover rate is? We have only had dog lice (that was a crazy experience) and cannot imagine how grossed out I would be to have to deal with this situation with our children (I know I know, it’s coming, knock on wood that we have not been there yet, blah just several HF&M cases). Anyways, though this wouldn’t be the job for me, and I consider what they are paying their employees… this business concept needs a positive vibe shoutout! I am sure you are worth every moment and every dollar.

Btw Dog lice is not transmittal to humans, but our dog had this for 7 months since no one could diagnose her. We were all miserable.

Signs of a true novice gardener?
Today I finished planting my hardened off vegetable plants this morning. I still have some inside that have been slow or damaged and hopefully I will get those out soon too. I believe it’s safe to say that I bit off more than I can chew, will be overwhelmed, BUT we (the plants and I) are all friends now, so hopefully we can provide each other with the support we need for this growing season. (I found myself talking to my tomatoes and eggplants this morning, making sure they were ok if not happy hahah)

Welcome welcome
After reading comments and such about connecting with the community, and how there are many rules which can limit the fun, I thought that there was a need to share fun stories, resources, quirks and quacks.
I chose quirks and quacks because fun can be found everywhere, and quacks because well.. I saw a duck on crossing the street in my neighborhood and honestly wondered where it was going since there’s no water in the area, but maybe it needed a coffee at Tim’s.
