This is my happy place 🤍

In my ten years as an SLP, I have never felt this kind of fulfilment. This year, I chose to go all-in, make scary decisions and take risks I hadn’t been brave enough to take yet. I chose vulnerability over fear and bravery over image. I have created a “job” that feels like an extension of me, that I enjoy as much as my weekends and can include my family in on a daily basis.

I have, more than ever, realized the power of women helping women and community supporting its own. I have seen the power in connection and how quickly my friends and family have jumped up to support me and my business.

I’m so proud of what we are building in Strathearn and adore being a neighbour to all the surrounding communities. From Capilano, to Gold Bar, to Ottewell, Avonmore, Kenilworth, Bonnie Doon, Holyrood, King Edward, Forrest Heights and Cloverdale, I have had ties to each and every one of these communities from childhood. Whether it was soccer, dance lessons, piano lessons, walking to school, sleepovers with friends, slurpees at the corner stores, I have the fondest memories in this little pocket of our city.

My goal for 2026 is to provide more support, more engagement and more opportunities for connection for our families and neighbourhoods, that have so generously carried and lifted me from childhood to motherhood. 💕

This feels like one of the most meaningful and personal (& kismet✨) career moves I’ve ever made. But not because of luck, because of the arduous hours over the last few years, waiting for the right opportunity and listening to my gut.

My dad bought a commercial building in Strathearn in 2005. Being in high school at the time, my sister and I needed some “work”. And the psychologists renting the space needed cleaners, so the Rolfe girls (but mostly boyfriends, aka Matt) were given the gig.

Those psychologists ran a private practice in the space, and from then on I always saw my own private practice there too. They purchased the building from my dad in 2008, and kept in touch with him and my family over the years.

Fast forward *20* years, and on my daily Strathearn Drive dog walk past that building, I noticed this tiny sign in the window. I emailed the psychologist using my maiden name, assuming she’d never remember me, and immediately my phone rang. “BRITT!!!”

I knew that was the space meant for me, and today I got the keys and signed the lease. This is Dream Pediatric’s forever home. It’s a 10 minute walk from my house and Ollie’s school. I can walk her to kindergarten then continue on to my clinic. Walking to work is a dream come true❤️. Working in my own community, so close to where I was raised and went to school, and now where my girls are being raised, feels serendipitous. I adore our current location, the community has been so supportive and it’s such a vibrant part of Edmonton, but this one feels like home 🏠.

We will get to serve the families we know from school, community events and just being out and about! We live and breathe connection in Holyrood and Strathearn, and now, every facet of my life feels connected in the most perfectly aligned way.

I’m speechless and in tears that I can build my dream clinic for my own neighbours and friends 🩷.

And to all of our current clients, thank you so much for your support and loyalty to our practice. Whether you have followed us across our last two locations or just started seeing us on 124th, know that you are our community and our purpose! 💞
