As many of you know, I’ve been pouring my heart into Wee Sprout Speech over the years, helping children grow, connect, and find their voice. 💙

Today, I’m THRILLED to share that Wee Sprout Speech has officially grown into something bigger—☁️Dream Pediatric Services! ✨

In addition to speech therapy, we will begin offering occupational therapy to enhance everyday skills and physical therapy to support holistic growth. Our new interdisciplinary team is dedicated to helping your child connect, grow, and dream!

This new name reflects my passion for creating a space where children can DREAM BIG and families feel supported every step of the way. While the name may be different, my commitment to providing personalized, heart-centered care remains the same. 💛

AAANNNDDDD, If you have been around here for a bit, you know this connects beautifully with another passion project of mine—dream dough (), where sensory play meets creativity!

📖Swipe through for my ✨Top 10 Favourite Books✨ roundup! ➡️

Yesterday in stories, someone asked “What’s your favourite children’s book?”, and I gave my #1! But thought I should share some of the others I come back to time and time again. Kids love them, parents naturally adjust their language when reading them, these books are interactive, fun and engaging.

#6 is making its way up the list recently, I just discovered it and dare I say it’s better than the original.

Hi! 🙂 I’m Britt! (Duh) Pediatric SLP in YEG ☀️

With the beginning of a new school year, I thought I’d start a weekly conversation. I’ll ask and answer a few fun questions, then you can tell me if you agree or disagree and throw in some answers in the comments!

1. Q: Something delicious you’ve eaten recently? 😋 A: the bacon, date goat cheese dip from Costco. Go get it 🥓 🧀

2. Q: What are you reading? 🤓
A: 📕Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine & 🎧 The Collected Regrets of Clover

3. Q: Something(s) popular you don’t understand? 🤔
A: Stanley Tumblers (lol I have one and still don’t understand), Scrub Daddy sponges (I cannot get behind touching sponges, need a scrubby with a handle!)

4. Q: Little things that make you happy lately?😃
A: Outdoor showers, clean feet before bed, lake swims, fresh sheets, a heavy duvet on cooler nights, finding a lost lip chap 🎉🙌

5. Q: Recent purchases that have made your life a little better 🛍️
A: air fryer (making chicken without actually cutting it up or touching it is my love language), self-tanner + applicator mitt (I can wear sunscreen and have a great tan), ceramic thermal hair rollers (for bouncy hair that laaaasts)

After a month together without any travel, leaving these two today feels like a real punch to the gut 😮‍💨

It’s not just guilt (there’s always plenty of that), it’s missing them before I’m even gone, it’s missing bedtime, it’s missing being the one to hold them when they cry, it’s missing singing in the car on the way to daycare and missing the stories when they come home.

But then there’s the knowing that I’m a better mom for doing what I love and maintaining my identity outside of being a mom too. I’m not cut out for SAHM life even though the guilt says I should sometimes. Two truths, parenting always has two truths.

We’re so exciiiited and we just can’t hiiiiiiiiide it! 🥳

✨We are launching our first ever toddler language- building class. This 4-week group class is perfect if you aren’t sure if your child needs 1:1 therapy, but you’d like to chat with a SLP and get into some fun AND skill-building activities this summer.

👍It’s budget friendly and may even be covered by your insurance.
👍It’s in a central location with free-parking (AND great chai ☕️ upstairs)
👍It’s music and movement based (aka dance party)
👍It will be a small group, so you can get to know other parents and kids in the same boat!
👍Tuesday mornings from 10:00-11:00 (we all need to get out of the house at this exact time)

😰Sick of post-screen-time-meltdowns?? 👀➡️➡️

❓I’m curious, do you agree or disagree with these lists? Do your kids just walk away all together if the show isn’t fast-paced enough?

➕I’ll admit some of the “slower” shows don’t keep their attention quite as long, but I feel like that’s also a good thing? (As long as I can still get a minute or two of peace!!). My kids will still watch the shows I choose and since they’re not quite so invested, they are okay with it being turned off.

➕I cannot handle the post-screen time zombies, even though there isn’t anything bad about those shows in the next list, they seem to lead to kids being MEGA hooked and distressed when it gets turned off.

➕We also don’t do any iPad/tablet time in our house (only for travel, I’m still human) because it leads to the ultimate screen-time hangover. 😵

What is your go-to show that still maintains some civility in the house!? 🤲

Let’s band together, we can all use the suggestions and try out what other kids are tuning into. 🛟
