Get back into the swing of things with two yoga classes a week!

ABOUT THE CLASSES
The Tuesday class will be presented in Hatha yoga style - combining breath, body and mindfulness.

The Thursday class will presented Yin Yang yoga style for balancing energy, flexibility and strength. It will combine the benefits of passively holding yoga poses with more dynamic sequences and standing postures.

Combined, there is active movement and passive movement to calm the mind and flex the body. Attendance to both is not required; each class provides benefits.

$10 per class and classes run 7:00-8:00 p.m, every Tuesday and Thursday evening January through March.

To register, send your email by direct message and a meeting invite with the Zoom link and all the details will be sent to you.

The great thing about yoga is it’s adaptable to how your body is feeling and how it moves. We all have different abilities and I truly love guiding people through their yoga practice.

I am your guide but it is your body, your say. Taking heed of this lesson this week, I had to listen to my body and allow it more time for rest between my personal practice and teaching hence the time change for Tuesday Tune Up classes.

If you want to know what all the fuss is about yoga or why I think you’ll like it, you gotta try it. Join me, won’t you?

$10 per class. DM your email address and I will send you the meeting invite which has registration details and the Zoom link.

September always brings a sense of new beginnings: a fresh start to the school year and a new season. It is also a great time to begin or further your yoga practice.

Tailored around your day and delivered via Zoom, consider joining the Wake Up Yoga series - Mon-Wed-Fri 7:30-8:15 am MDT or the Move it @ Lunch Yoga - Mon-Wed-Fri 12:00-12:30 pm MDT. Each of these are designed to align your body with your breath, give you space and time just for your well-being and get your body moving. All bodies have different abilities and I will provide variations to accommodate your needs so that your practice is safe and fulfilling.

Ten classes in each series and run Wed Sept 8 to Wed Sept 29. Special pricing - for each series or both or drop in classes - is available.

Share your email by direct message to receive more details or start the registration process.

See you on the mat. 🧘🏼‍♀️

This is worth a watch. This hits so many buttons for me personally and in my approach to teaching yoga. So many life lessons to unpack here:

1. It does not matter what you look like or how much you weigh; it’s what you feel like.
2. Success is peace of mind knowing you have done your best. ~ Ackerman
3. Rediscover your joy.
4. Anything is possible.
5. Both shaming and caring have lifelong effects. One is positive, one isn’t. Make sure your words don’t become someone’s negative thoughts. Instead, make sure your words become someone’s positive mantra.
6. Your weight does not dictate your abilities. We are all unique; find your uniqueness and celebrate it.
7. Don’t put your happiness in someone else’s pocket.
8. You got this AND surround yourself with people who support you. Ditch the ones that don’t.

Yoga helps you create a powerful mind and body connection that you listen and respond to. This is a practiced skill. It really is. How many times have I not taken care of myself because my thoughts or schedule were too busy? Too many.

My soul has been craving the sun and I have been giving myself that time daily all week. Today, I added yoga and meditation while sitting on a comfortable bench in a park. As I meditated, the geese squawked and the ducks honked involved in whatever pond drama was going on, and there I sat acknowledging the sounds and coming back into my breath. That peace within is profound.

No matter what is going on, you have the power within you to take care of yourself. You really do.

Someone needs to hear this today. You are supported, loved and held. You got this.

Meditation comes in many forms and can occur anywhere. The wind breathes, the water flows, the birds sing.

Meet me on the mat this month! Virtually, of course, but the connection is real-the internal connection between your body and breath and externally to a wonderful and welcoming yoga community.

Choose Wake Up Yoga Mon-Wed-Fri (7:15-8:00 am MDT) or Move it Yoga (12:00-12:30 pm MDT). DM to register and for more details. Inquire about special pricing for both series.

My approach to guiding you through your yoga practice is to accommodate your needs while offering a variety of fun ways to move, stretch and awaken muscles from head to toe. You will, no doubt, exercise your lungs like never before but also find peace in the silences and restorative poses.

Let’s get on the mat and get moving.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I am happy to support you and your yoga practice.

Guess who is celebrating her first anniversary teaching yoga today? Me, that’s who! They say a picture says a thousand words so how many does a smile say?

There is a lot behind this smile. After teaching over 225 classes this past year, I only crave to teach more. I love the exploration of what the body can do and can’t (or at least for a moment) and finding ways to provide variations as needed.

Life ebbs and flows and so does yoga. I love the community of yogis with me and their willingness to show up on the mat and gives themselves a break, a chance or a challenge. I love their questions and desire to learn why or more. I value their trust in me.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey. Namaste.

Radical self-acceptance is rolling through my mind. I recently started reading “Meditations from the Mat - Daily Reflections on the Path of Yoga,” by Rolf Gates and Katrina Kenison and I cannot shake the words, “radical self-acceptance.” What it means to me is fully accepting where I am in my yoga practice, as a yoga teacher and in life.

This licence frees me to be as I am - and yes, I change and evolve constantly - which gives me peace and contentment. When challenges arise, I meet them with more grace.

“The first step in this process of mindful awareness is radical self-acceptance.” ~ Stephen Batchelor, Day 13 in the book.

What do you radically accept about yourself?

Photo 2-I stand sandwiched between my dog on her bed and an exercise bike which shows that my home serves many purposes.

When your dog disrupts yoga practice and the show must go on!

It was hard to ignore her when she was blocking the view and yes, I lost a bit of my composure, crying out for help from my daughter, but got it back. 😉 🧘🏼‍♀️ 🐕

Sassy is enjoying Yoga with DanaYEG “TV” as she visits my mat, watches the screen to see everyone or simply sleeps nearby.

Some days she is more active than others and her presence, even slightly distracting, is joyful. Her visits certainly test one’s ability to be mindful, focused and present. Life is like that, isn’t it? Distractions come and go and we don’t need to “chase” them; we can simply let them pass by.
