From blisters to baskets to banquets — we did it! ♿🏀🎉

From April 17–19, Wheelchair Sports Alberta proudly hosted Canada’s current largest wheelchair basketball tournament! With 4 divisions, 22 teams, and well over 200 athletes competing, this event was an incredible celebration of sport, community, and competition.

This tournament would not have been possible without our amazing co-hosts:
🏀 Wheelchair Basketball Canada
🏀 Alberta Northern Lights Wheelchair Basketball Society
🏀 Edmonton Inferno Wheelchair Basketball Society

A huge thank you as well to our sponsors, supporters, volunteers, referees/officials, medical staff, and community partners. Your support and collaboration allow us to continue fostering and growing an incredible adaptive sports community across Alberta. From celebrating and honoring the accomplishments of athletes past to creating new memories, reaching new heights with today’s players, and developing the next generation of competitive athletes, the future of adaptive sport in Alberta is looking brighter than ever. 😎

And finally, thank you to the outstanding Wheelchair Sports Alberta team who went above and beyond to make this event truly spectacular for both athletes and spectators alike.

We can’t wait to see what next year has in store! Stay tuned tomorrow as we announce the rosters for our Wheelchair Rugby and Wheelchair Basketball teams heading to Nationals this weekend, May 15–17! 💪🔥
