Your work does not go unnoticed. It shapes the culture in our homes and helps create places where people feel safe, valued, and cared for.

We are grateful for everything you do, today and every day.

The Connecting Care Spring Conference 2026 has come to a close, and this Eden tree is a beautiful reminder of what our communities bring to the table.

On Day 1, each community added leaves that shared a strength, a resident engagement story, and an area they want to continue growing.

By the end of the activity, the tree held more than words. It held examples of hospitality in action: pride in good work, stories of meaningful connection, and a shared commitment to keep improving.

As we reflect on our theme, Cultivating Culture Through Hospitality, this tree reminds us that culture grows through everyday choices. The way we welcome, listen, notice, include, and care.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this conference meaningful. We are grateful for the learning, the connection, and the dedication our teams bring back to their communities.

Day 2 of the Connecting Care Spring Conference 2026 is complete!

Today brought another full day of learning, conversation, and connection for our General Managers and Office Admin teams.

From building greater understanding of the experience of living with dementia, to learning practical strategies for WCB management, to exploring new branding initiatives, Day 2 offered meaningful and relevant development for our teams.

We are grateful for the leaders and team members in this photo and for the care they bring to their communities each day. It has been a great few days together, and we are looking forward to one more day tomorrow.

Thank you to Sysco Canada for another great day of delicious food and hospitality.

A great start to Day 1 of our Connecting Care Conference.

We spent the day diving into what it really means to cultivate culture through hospitality, including learning about personality styles and how to lead and work well with one another.

We also took time to share stories from each community, highlighting what it looks like to live the Eden Alternative in everyday moments. These reflections grounded the conversation in real experiences and reminded us that culture is shaped through the small, intentional things we do each day.

There was a lot of honest conversation, learning, and shared insight. It’s a good reminder that strong culture is something we build together, on purpose.

Excited to keep the conversations going tomorrow.

At Connecting Care, we believe investing in our employee care partners helps strengthen the communities we serve. Twice a year, we bring our teams together for focused conferences designed for learning, connection, collaboration, and practical skill-building.

This week, we are excited to welcome our General Managers and Office Admin teams to the Connecting Care Spring Conference 2026 at the Sysco warehouse in Edmonton.

A big thank you to Sysco Canada for being such a valued partner and for providing such a welcoming space, wonderful hospitality, and delicious food for our team.

We are looking forward to a great few days together.

At Points West Living Prince Albert, a new initiative called Residents in the Kitchen is creating thoughtful ways for residents to be involved alongside the team. This month, residents worked with Head Chef Angelito to prepare cookie dough, taking part in something familiar and hands on. The program is intentionally designed to be accessible, allowing residents to participate in ways that work for them. Moments like these reflect the care and intention behind building communities where people continue to feel engaged and included.

Meet Vicky and Phyllis, two residents at Points West Living Heritage House whose weekly bingo games have become a highlight for both of them. At 101 years old, Phyllis relies on some help to see all the numbers, and Vicky always sits beside her, guiding her through the game and sharing in the excitement when she gets a bingo. Over time, their companionship has grown into a friendship filled with conversation, gentle encouragement, and quiet moments of connection. With Recreation Aide Kristen bringing them together each week, their bond is a beautiful example of how residents in Connecting Care communities support one another, creating meaningful moments and enriching each other’s lives.
