We’re excited to join the Spotlight on Seniors Showcase on October 7 in Saskatoon!
This event is all about celebrating older adults and sharing resources that enrich their lives. At Connecting Care, our passion is building person-centered communities where seniors thrive. We look forward to connecting with attendees, learning from others, and sharing how we create homes that foster dignity, purpose, and meaningful connections.

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to honor the survivors of residential schools, remember those who never returned, and acknowledge the ongoing impact on Indigenous communities.
This day reminds us of the history and legacy of residential schools in Canada—a truth we must understand to move toward healing and reconciliation. Let’s commit to listening, learning, and taking meaningful steps together.

At Points West Living Cold Lake, residents recently enjoyed a special visit from a group of mini ponies and shelties. It was a unique day as these gentle animals met for the first time, sharing a memorable moment that captured everyone’s attention. These visits offer more than just fresh air and friendly faces—they help create meaningful connections that support well-being. Bringing animals into the community is one way we live out the Eden Principle of reducing loneliness and boredom for those we serve.

Gardening is more than just planting seeds. It’s fresh air, gentle movement, and the satisfaction of watching something grow. For older adults, time in the garden can reduce stress, boost mood, and even improve strength and flexibility. As these residents from Brook Designated Supportive Living demonstrate, whether it’s tending vegetables, watering flowers, or simply enjoying the colors and scents, gardening offers a sense of purpose and connection to nature that never gets old.

Did you know that friendships in later life can be just as exciting and fulfilling as those made in our younger years? Studies show that social connections boost mood, strengthen the immune system, and even improve memory.

At Pearson Place, one beautiful example came to life recently. Residents Trudy and Alf are often together, enjoying each other’s company and looking out for one another. When Alf noticed Trudy was feeling down, he picked a few flowers from the community garden to give her. Her smile said it all. A simple, thoughtful gesture showed the depth of their friendship and the difference kindness can make in someone’s day.

Connecting Care communities are special because residents are encouraged to invite their friends and social groups to join them right here at home. This openness helps create a true sense of belonging and connection that makes everyday life richer and more joyful.

Recently, the Red Hat Society held their monthly gathering at Points West Living Moose Jaw. It was a wonderful example of how residents bring their friendships and celebrations into the community, creating moments that reflect the heart of what we do.

We love supporting these meaningful connections that make our homes feel vibrant and full of life.

There’s something timeless about an ice cream cone on a warm day. At Points West Living Wainwright, residents recently enjoyed a treat that brought smiles, laughter, and a little bit of childhood nostalgia.

Whether it’s chocolate, vanilla, or something in between, it’s the simple joys that often mean the most. Moments like these remind us that happiness doesn’t have to be complicated; it can be as sweet and simple as a cone shared with friends.

Life in our communities is about more than care. It’s about creating opportunities for joy, movement, and connection. Points West Living Stettler recently came together with determination and heart to make something truly special happen. They successfully raised the funds to purchase a duet bike.

With a comfortable passenger seat in front and a rider pedaling from behind, this bike gives residents the chance to feel the breeze, explore the neighborhood, and enjoy the simple freedom of a bike ride.

This project is a powerful example of what can happen when people believe in meaningful living and work together to make it real. Congratulations to everyone at Stettler for turning a great idea into a beautiful reality.

At Points West Living Prince Albert, their recent Multicultural Day was more than a celebration, it was a vibrant reflection of what makes our communities thrive. Residents and employee care partners came together to share food, stories, and traditions from around the world, including Nepal, India, Canada, the Philippines, Palestine, and Nigeria. The result? A powerful reminder that learning, joy, and connection have no age limit.

At Connecting Care, we believe in building communities where everyone belongs, where life continues to grow, and where every person - regardless of age - is seen, heard, and valued. Rooted in the Eden Alternative philosophy, our homes are designed to nurture purpose, companionship, and meaningful experiences every day.

To the team at Prince Albert: thank you for showing what’s possible when we celebrate each other.

Did you know? Older adults who feel connected and involved in their communities are more likely to report higher levels of well-being and happiness. ❤️

That’s why we believe in more than just care—we believe in connection. Through recreation, relationships, and shared purpose, our communities thrive.

Here’s to building moments that matter—for every age, every day.

Building real relationships means taking time to listen, connect, and share stories. At Points West Living Peace River, one simple kitchen moment led to a meaningful conversation between a care partner and resident Ana - and a memory that reached back decades.

While helping to peel potatoes, Ana shared why she never developed a taste for mushrooms, even though her childhood was full of them. What stayed with her wasn’t the mushrooms themselves, but the time spent foraging with her mother. It was about connection, not ingredients. Moments like this are a reminder that meaningful engagement often starts with something small, and grows into something lasting.

Celebrating meaningful moments is part of what makes community life special. Points West Living Moose Jaw recently hosted their first annual Car Show. It was a sunny afternoon filled with the sound of classic engines, shared stories, and plenty of smiles.

Residents spent time reminiscing about the cars they once owned, chatting with car owners, and even climbing into a few of the vehicles. Events like this reflect the spirit of community life — full of variety, connection, and the unexpected.

About Us

Connecting Care is a convergence of complimentary service groups into one cohesive company, benefiting from the synergies all can provide. Connecting Care’s focus is to provide the best service and leadership to our stakeholders.

Supportive (assisted) living is a rapidly expanding industry. Since its inception in 1999, Connecting Care has obtained several contracts to operate supportive living facilities and has provided consulting services to developers, not for profits and operators.

The Eden Alternative® focuses on moving away from the institutional hierarchical (medical) model of care into a constructive culture of “home” where Elders direct their own lives. The Eden Alternative® philosophy is focused on the care of the human spirit as well as the care of the human body.
