Elves Special Needs Society is a non-profit organization that offers education, respite, and alternative-to-work day programming to children, youth, and adults. Elves serves all ability levels, and specializes in supporting learners with speech delays, fine/gross motor delays, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Elves School is a Designated Special Education
Program (DSEP) accredited by Alberta Education which offers Early Childhood Services (preschool and kindergarten) and Grades 1-12. Our school has been in operation since 1973. The Adult Program was initiated in 1985 to meet the needs of students reaching adulthood. Elves' multidisciplinary team consists of Certified Teachers, Instructors, Educational Assistants, Nurses (RN's, LPN's), Occupational and Physical Therapists, Therapy Assistants, Speech Language Pathologists, Early Education/Special Needs/Proactive Behavioural Consultation, Principal, Adult Program Director, and Family Support Workers. Elves Special Needs Society (Elves) uses Facebook to engage, inform and exchange information with individuals and organizations. While we encourage our fans to comment and share, we ask that you do so in a respectful manner. Elves prides itself on providing a supportive and caring environment and wants to bring that commitment to its online environment. In order to do so comments are monitored and will be deleted if they contain the following:
• misinformation;
• hate speech;
• profanity, obscenity, vulgarity or nudity;
• name calling or personal attacks including defamation;
• material that violates copyright;
• spam (a repeat of the same posts and comments);
• third party solicitation;
• any material contrary to our Society values; or
• any material in violation of Facebook terms and conditions. There shall be no information regarding any of the individuals attending Elves Special Needs Society programs posted on Facebook without the express consent of the individuals and their parents or guardians. Strict confidentiality including protection from disclosure of names or photos of any child, student or client attending Elves, must be observed. Elves Special Needs Society reserves the right to remove any content that is inappropriate or in violation of this policy. Violators may be banned. While Elves monitors its social networks it does not do so 24 hours a day. It’s possible that an inappropriate comment will not be seen right away and we trust our community to have the maturity to ignore personal attacks and negative material or respond politely.
