The bivalent COVID-19 booster vaccine triggers a stronger immune response and provides additional protection against both Omicron and the original SARS-CoV-2 virus strain.  The Moderna Bivalent Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine is an Omicron-containing mRNA vaccine approved by Health Canada as a booster dose for adults 18 years and older.
