Let’s talk about change.

As many of you know, Nest Integrative Wellness will be closing its doors at the end of this month. I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to all the practitioners (and owners!!) and to each client I’ve had the privilege of working with. Whether I saw you once for a prenatal session or supported you throughout your entire perinatal journey, you’ve left a meaningful impact on me both personally and professionally. These past three years have been such a gift, and I’ve truly loved every moment.

That said, starting August 1st, I’ll be moving my practice full-time to The Garden Holistic. I could go on forever about what drew me to The Garden (the energy, the incredible team, the location) but I’ll keep this post short(ish) hahah. I’m genuinely excited to begin this next chapter and can’t wait to welcome you there!

This is a super common question that people have for me! You are safely able to get a prenatal massage from the moment you conceive until you give birth (barring any contraindications or complications).

For their own comfort, some massage therapists will not offer massage in the first trimester. Typically they will have this outlined on their booking page.

Here at nest, massage therapy is offered in the first trimester 😸

I get a lot of questions about massage in the first trimester, so I figured we could go over them!
Key takeaways:
🌱Barring any perinatal complications, massage in the first trimester is safe!!
🌱One of the most important aspects is having an RMT who is comfortable and confident with providing the service, some RMTs will not see first trimester clients for their own comfort
🌱You can receive a low back massage!

it’s been a while since i did an introduction on here,so here we go again! 😸

Hi, I’m mackenzie, a local perinatal RMT. I graduated from Grant MacEwans massage therapy program in 2022 and have been practicing at Nest Integrative Wellness ever since! I’ve had a love for perinatal care since my first prenatal client and haven’t looked back since.

I figured I could drop some fun facts (Mackenzie lore) for you to get to know me!

1. I was born in Thunder Bay and loovvvee northern ontario.

2. I foster kitties with community cats edmonton! We’re currently over a year in and on kitty number 4

3. As much as I hate to admit it, I love reality TV. Big Brother, Survivor and Below Deck are my guilty pleasures 🫣

4. Besides reality TV, I also have a love for shows like Yellowjackets, Modern Family and Criminal Minds.

5. Pop music is my absolute favourite. Lorde is my all time favourite artist, but lately i’ve been enjoying Chappell Roan, Carly Rae Jepsen and of course Taylor Swift.

Sessions with me at Nest are completely catered to you. You pick the music, heat, pressure, light and style! Treat yourself to a massage and come relax 🧘🏻

July is my birth month, and it’s no secret to my regulars that i love my cat(s) and the rescue that I foster with. 😸

That is why for the month of July, I’m donating $5 from every massage session to Community Cats Edmonton (CCE)

CCE does amazing work with TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return), fostering, and rehabbing cats in the Edmonton area. They make such a difference for these kitties and our community!
