Now showing at UCalgary Downtown! We’re excited to share that “What’s Your Thing?”, our photo exhibit created in collaboration with Positive Exposure and the Sinneave Family Foundation, has been on display at the University of Calgary (Downtown Campus) since October 12 and will remain open through January 16.

Through powerful portraits and stories of people on the autism spectrum and their families, the exhibit celebrates the passions that shape who we are and the many ways we connect beyond a diagnosis. It invites everyone to reflect on the interests and joys that bring meaning to our lives, and how our “things” help build a stronger, more inclusive community.

✨ Join us on January 16th for a special event celebrating the exhibit! RSVP on our website, under the Events page. Come visit, connect, and discover… What’s your thing?

Today we’re celebrating the incredible work of Molly and Julia, our PRISMA genetic counsellors. 🧬 From supporting the 17q12 community to working closely with the autism community in Edmonton and Alberta, their dedication and care make a real difference every day. We’re so grateful for everything they bring to our team and to the families we serve. ✨

We’re so happy to have been part of the World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics this October in Cancún! 🌴🧬

Our PRISMA team presented four posters as part of the congress, sharing our ongoing work in precision and genomic medicine in psychiatry. It was an exciting opportunity to learn, connect, and exchange ideas with colleagues from around the world.

A special thanks to our PRISMA Group Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry - University of Alberta for their incredible support, on behalf of Dr. Daniel Moreno, CASA Research Chair at CASA Mental Health

✨ New article from PRISMA!

With our postdoc Dener as a lead author, our PRISMA team just published in Kids Frontiers: “How Can Genetics Help Us Understand Autism?” 🧬💙

Autism can shape the way people communicate, interact, and experience the world. While genetic tests cannot diagnose autism, they can often identify underlying causes, guide doctors, and provide families with valuable support options.

This article breaks down what genetics means in autism, how genetic testing works, and why it is an important tool for families navigating care. 🧡

We’re proud to see PRISMA’s educational and research mission reflected in such important conversations. 🌍💙

🗓️ Save the Date — September 12!
We’re excited to open the Calgary version of “What’s Your Thing?” — a photo exhibit in collaboration with Positive Exposure and the Sinneave Family Foundation at the Calgary Library.

Through powerful portraits and stories of people on the autism spectrum and their families, the exhibit celebrates the unique passions that make us who we are and connect us all beyond a diagnosis. “What’s Your Thing?” invites everyone to reflect on their own interests and passions — the things that bring meaning and joy to their lives — and shows how these personal “things” build a stronger, more inclusive community. What’s your thing?

Thank you to everyone who joined Dr. Matthew Siegel’s talk on “Intensive Assessment & Treatment of Challenging Behavior in Youth with Autism and Intellectual Disability” on June 20. 🧠💬We appreciated all the great questions and the opportunity to learn from Dr. Siegel’s experience.

One key takeaway was the importance of finding strategies to support people on the spectrum at the level of care that best meets their needs.

This session was part of the CASA Research Ground Rounds series — a space for sharing knowledge, ideas, and research.📚✨

Big thanks to , — especially Molly Goldman — , and for helping make this happen.

Looking forward to more learning together! 😀
