Today we hold our memories with Nancy close and feel endless gratitude for her work, wisdom, and spirit that have touched us and others in so many ways. Update on Melissa! 🐝 :

I’m a student again! If you haven’t yet heard, last month I started my Master’s in Counselling Psychology ☺️You may have noticed that I’ve been a little absent on here. That’s only because usually, if I’m not working on music therapy work, I’m working on school work 😅 Although it’s been a ton of work so far, I’m loving what I’m learning! My music therapy training has leant itself so well as a foundation to this program.

I’m not yet sure where this new path will lead me, but for now, thanks for being apart of this hive 💛 Our DMs and emails are always open and I can’t wait until the day when I can offer counselling-psychology-music therapy services to you! 🐝

Everyone loves music, it provides relief for different situations and it’s only normal for it to be a form of therapy. Music therapy is simply using music to treat the emotional, cognitive, physical, and social needs of a person or group of people.

So, what exactly is music therapy? 🎶

Music therapy is the clinical use of music to motivate clients to achieve their non-musical therapeutic goals. Trained and certified music therapists apply musical techniques curated for each specific individual and their needs.

Music therapists are trained therapists. They are trained to use their musicianship as a tool to reach therapeutic goals. How cool is that! 💛🐝
