At FLEX, recovery isn’t just about stretching, massage, or getting treatment when something hurts.

It’s about building the flexibility, strength, and resilience to keep doing what matters to you — in sport, in training, and in life.

For some people that means getting back to competition.
For others, it means moving without pain, training consistently, or just feeling more like themselves again.

Winning looks different for everyone. We’re just here to help you get there.

Behind every athlete, coach, practitioner, and training staff member is usually someone who was there long before the game days, sidelines, certifications, or wins.

Moms, grandmas, stepmoms, and mother figures who dealt with the early mornings, the chaos, the schedules, the injuries, the mood swings, and the “I’m fine” when we absolutely were not fine… and somehow still kept showing up for us anyways.

We honestly couldn’t have gotten here without them.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at FLEX Stretch and Recovery Center and the Edmonton Huskies Athletic Training Team ❤️

Finals, work, long hours at a desk — same result.

Tight chest. Restricted shoulders.

This is a simple way to open things up and move a little better.

From practicum student to officially joining the FLEX team.

Over the last few months, Em has become a huge part of what we do at FLEX.

She’s hard-working, confident with clients, and has done a great job bridging the gap between treatment, movement, and recovery.

She has a way of making people feel comfortable while still pushing them, and she’s continued to grow every step of the way.

Safe to say she’s earned her spot.

Officially welcome to the big leagues, Coach Em 💪🏼

Not all massage is meant to feel the same — and that’s intentional.

Relaxation massage can help calm the nervous system and support overall recovery.
Deep tissue techniques are often used when we’re trying to access more stubborn tension or areas that have been overloaded for a while.
Therapeutic treatment is usually a blend — using whatever tools or approaches make the most sense based on what we’re finding and what you’re comfortable with.

There’s a time and place for each style.
And no, there isn’t one magical technique that works for everyone every time.

That’s why treatment at FLEX is always guided — not just by a routine, but by what your body actually needs that day.

They all think mobility is optional… until Coach Em shows up 😅

Amazing how quickly people can move when a foam roller gets involved.

Between stretching, training, and filming content… this is the part of clinic life people don’t always see.

Notes. Billing. Planning. Contracts. Trying to stay organized. Trying to stay fed.

As boring as the office side can be sometimes… I kind of love it. Building something that actually works behind the scenes matters.

Also, the way to our hearts may or may not involve snacks or energy drinks 😄
(Alani Cotton Candy for me. Juneberry Red Bull for Coach Em.)

Happy FLEX Friday 💪🏼

Solo glute day this week because Em was down for the count… so no witnesses to my questionable life choices in the gym.

Also debuted the fire-engine red shorts. Growth comes in many forms. No regrets… yet.

Showing up, getting stronger, pretending we know what we’re doing as usual.

Welcome back to FLEX Talk… yes, we’re alive 😅

It’s been a quiet week on here because between sickness, a very full schedule, and trying to function like normal humans… social media did not win the priority contest.

These monthly check-ins are where we talk through the real stuff — the highs, the lows, the client wins, and occasionally just stare at each other wondering how we’re this tired 🤣.

Lately things have just been moving very fast around the clinic. It’s exciting, a little chaotic at times, and definitely keeping us on our toes.

The upside?
Client wins are happening constantly. And their progress really does feel like our progress. Watching people move better, feel stronger, and trust the process makes the chaos worth it.

So here’s your behind-the-scenes look at FLEX being slightly bagged, slightly unhinged, but still very committed to what we do.

Thanks for keeping us busy… seriously ❤️

Fascial Stretch Therapy became one of my favourite tools as a therapist because it focuses on restoring movement — not just chasing pain.

By working with the fascia and the joints together, it helps the body move more freely and often reduces the restrictions that lead to stiffness or discomfort in the first place.

I’ve seen the difference it can make for clients, and I’ve felt it myself as an athlete. When your body moves better, everything else tends to work better too.
