π±π May is Mental Health Awareness Month! ππ
Most people struggling with mental health issues still look βhigh functioningβ to those around them π
They answer emails.
Go to work.
Take care of everyone else.
Make jokes.
Show up smiling.
Say βIβm fine.β
Meanwhile their nervous system has not felt stability and connection for years. π
Mental health struggles are not always obvious. π
ββοΈ
Sometimes they sound like: βIβm just tired.β
βIβve been stressed lately.β
βI donβt know why I feel this way.β
βI shouldnβt be struggling this much.β
βI just need to get it together.β
Sometimes depression looks productive.
Sometimes anxiety looks successful.
Sometimes trauma looks independent.
Sometimes burnout gets praised.
People become incredibly skilled at surviving while quietly falling apart. π
At Authentic You, we want people to know you do not need to hit a breaking point before reaching out for support.
You do not need to βhave it worse.β
You do not need to justify your pain.
You do not need to wait until your relationships, work, sleep, motivation, or sense of self completely unravel...
Therapy is not only for crisis. It is also for understanding yourself, feeling emotionally safer, learning healthier patterns, processing difficult experiences, and finally having a space where you do not have to hold everything alone. π€
If you have been thinking about reaching out, maybe this is your sign β¨οΈ
