THAT’S A WRAP on our first ever Summer Camp!! 🥹 We had SO much fun and it was wonderful to see the kids grow, come out of their shell, and make new friends over the course of three weeks! 5 reasons why Speech and Occupational therapy in a Group setting can be beneficial for children:

- Kids can practice their skills in a realistic, social setting that may mimic their school, home, or community environment.

- Your child will have the opportunity interact with other kids while engaging in fun activities and potentially form new friendships!

- Your child has a chance to learn from their peers in the group, and the peers may learn from your child as well!

- Group Speech and Occupational therapy is often more affordable than individual therapy.

- Your child is still receiving guidance and support from registered professionals!

Meet our OT and SLP! 👋

Chris is the director of FUNctional mOTion 4 Kids in Edmonton. She is a Registered Occupational Therapist who has been practicing for over 20 years! Her pediatric experience lies in the areas of developmental delays, genetic and coordination disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Lauren is the director of Little Spark Speech Services in Edmonton. She is a Registered Speech Language Pathologist with over 4 years of experience working with children of all ages with developmental delays, genetic syndromes, and ASD.

Chris and Lauren decided to collaborate to give children an opportunity to practice a combination of speech, language, and OT skills in a group setting. Thus, Say and Play Therapy was born! 😊

Both clinicians value the importance of a play-based therapy approach, functional goal setting, and collaborating with families and other health care professionals to help children achieve their goals.

Chris and Lauren are looking forward to running Say and Play Summer Camp this July and August! ☀️🕶️

Meet Lauren 👋 the Speech Language Pathologist at Say and Play: Movement and Speech Therapy!

Lauren is the Director of Little Spark Speech Services in Edmonton. She has been working as an SLP with children for over 4 years in school, home, and clinic settings. She is passionate about facilitating early language development, assisting with speech sound production, and helping children develop their social communication skills - all in a fun and play-based environment!

Lauren is beyond excited to meet and work with the children in our Summer Camp groups! 😎
